H&S Advisor (Property & Buildings)
WSPA little more about your role...
We are seeking an H&S Advisor to support our UK Property & Buildings (P&B) business, enabling project teams to deliver safe, compliant and successful design and site‑based projects. This is a hands‑on role involving regular travel across the UK & Ireland to support teams, conduct engagements, complete assurance activities and drive continuous improvement.
You will work closely with the P&B H&S Business Partner and be part of the wider WSP HSEQ team. P&B is a rapidly growing business of over 1,200 people delivering design, consultancy and construction‑related services across diverse environments—requiring proportionate, practical, and expert H&S support.
You will provide competent hands on H&S advice to project directors, managers and teams across the P&B business, including
• Supporting monthly H&S reporting, incident tracking and statistical analysis.
• Assisting with H&S communications, objectives and project bid support.
• Contributing to incident investigations and supporting lessons‑learned activities.
• Conducting CDM design reviews, site visits, assurance audits and RAMS reviews.
• Supporting assessment of prospective suppliers.
• Helping project leaders strengthen H&S culture and drive compliance with WSP’s management system.
• Contributing to the development and maintenance of WSP H&S governance system and tools.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate.
• Experience in an H&S advisory or management role (consulting or construction preferred).
• NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) or, as a minimum, a NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
• Understanding of UK&I regulatory framework, in particular designer and principal contractor duties.
• Ability to analyse data, identify risks and provide clear, actionable advice.
• Ability to build strong relationships across dispersed teams.
• Clear, diplomatic and professional communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Willingness to travel regularly across the UK & Ireland
