Your New Role
Warner Bros. Discovery is looking for a Project Manager, IT Projects to support the delivery of IT and digital solutions for the new Harry Potter Studio Tour in Shanghai, China. Reporting to the Senior Manager, this role will coordinate the deployment of retail, ticketing, F&B, and digital systems—including WeChat Mini Program features—and ensure these solutions align with Warner Bros. Discovery’s global technology standards. The ideal candidate will have practical experience delivering technical projects in China, strong stakeholder communication skills, and proven ability to support digital product development, vendor
management, and system implementation.
Project Delivery and Implementation:
• Support the Senior Manager in defining project scope, budget, and timelines for the deployment of IT systems, including retail POS, ticketing, inventory, and WeChat Mini Program solutions.
• Manage day-to-day project activities and deliverables across the project lifecycle, from planning and development through implementation and post-launch support.
• Coordinate and oversee on-site hardware installations and IT infrastructure work (e.g., data ports), working closely with construction and facilities teams.
• Monitor project progress, maintain project plans, and escalate delays or deviations to the Senior Manager.
• Establish and maintain regular project reviews with key stakeholders; prepare
meeting agendas, progress reports, and action-tracking to ensure alignment and
timely decision-making.
• Track the progress of multiple concurrent projects, consolidating status, highlighting dependencies and risks, and ensuring follow-through on action items.
• Conduct risk and issue management at the project level, proactively identifying
problems and driving timely resolution; raise major risks to the Senior Manager as needed.
• Manage vendor engagement and performance for assigned projects, support
contract administration and bidding processes, and ensure service delivery meets agreed requirements.
• Ensure project work adheres to Warner Bros. Discovery’s global standards and local compliance policies; flag compliance concerns to leadership.
• Facilitate lessons-learned sessions for delivered projects and implement agreed improvements under the guidance of the Senior Manager.
Required Skills & Experience (suggested):
• 5 to 8 years of working experience managing IT project management and delivery
• Strong project management skills, including scheduling, resource coordinationand reporting.
• Strong vendor management and contract management skills
• Experience establishing and running regular stakeholder governance (status
reviews, steering committees, action logs).
• Good stakeholder engagement and communication skills; ability to translate
business needs into technical requirements.
• Experience coordinating with construction/facilities teams on hardware and
infrastructure deployments is a plus.
• Prior involvement in digital product development (e.g., WeChat Mini Program or
similar) is preferred but not essential
• Familiarity with contract and procurement processes.
• Ability to work independently on assigned projects and collaborate eZectively with senior leadership.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese (Mandarin) with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong understanding of local compliance requirements in China for IT and digital systems.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and coordinate with multiple vendors
simultaneously.
• Professional project management certifications (such as PMP, ACP, PgMP…etc)
Shanghai Joint Venture Employment:
Please note that this position is employed through Warner Bros. Discovery’s joint venture with Jin Jiang International (Holdings) Co., Ltd. The joint venture entity is Shanghai WB Jinjiang Studio Tour Co., Ltd. Successful candidates will be hired by the joint venture company and assigned to work with Warner Bros. Discovery as required for this project.
