Job Description
The Strategic Account Executive is responsible for managing and growing relationships with assigned clients, developing and executing business strategies that drive sustainable growth, portfolio performance, and long-term value creation for both clients and Visa.
This role serves as the primary relationship owner and trusted advisor, identifying growth opportunities, leading strategic initiatives, and coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver measurable business outcomes. The individual will work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to develop market strategies, implement innovative payment solutions, optimize portfolio performance, and strengthen Visa's position within the payments ecosystem.
The position will primarily focus on the Northern Triangle markets and may also support regional and multinational client opportunities across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Responsibilities:
- Own and manage strategic client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact and trusted business advisor.
- Develop and execute growth strategies that increase revenue, portfolio performance, and utilization of Visa products and solutions.
- Identify, develop, and lead business opportunities across issuing, acquiring, digital payments, value-added services, and emerging payment solutions.
- Lead strategic initiatives from concept through implementation, ensuring timely execution and measurable business impact.
- Partner with clients to address business challenges through data-driven recommendations, market insights, and innovative solutions.
- Coordinate and influence cross-functional teams across Product, Marketing, Risk, Consulting, Client Services, and Regional Leadership to achieve business objectives.
- Develop business cases, investment recommendations, and implementation roadmaps to maximize return on investment.
- Leverage analytics and market intelligence to identify opportunities, monitor performance, and optimize results.
- Build and maintain executive-level stakeholder relationships while driving alignment across internal and external teams.
- Promote best practices, innovation, and strategic partnerships that strengthen client performance and Visa's competitive position.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 2+ years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Master's, MBA, JD, MD), or equivalent experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
- Fluent English and Spanish (written and verbal).
- Experience in financial services, banking, payments, fintech, consulting, or related industries.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in payments, banking, consulting, financial services, fintech, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of the payments ecosystem, including issuers, acquirers, merchants, fintechs, and digital payment solutions.
- Experience managing strategic client relationships and driving business growth initiatives.
- Strong sales, account management, strategic planning, and negotiation skills.
- Strong commercial acumen, sound business judgment, and ability to assess opportunities based on business impact and return on investment.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, forecasts, and actionable insights from data.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution, coordinating multiple stakeholders to deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams in a matrixed organization.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented professional with strong ownership, accountability, and execution focus.
- Detail-oriented and highly numerate, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Knowledge of Latin America and Caribbean markets is highly desirable.
- Ability to travel as required.
