Job Description
Job Summary:
Directs a product strategy from product conception and definition through implementation. Identifies new business and market opportunities and creates appropriate business plans. Responsibilities may include determining the market for the product, determining the requirements of the marketplace for the product, and providing for the consistency of the new product with the organization's image and objectives. Functions as a central resource that interacts with systems, marketing, and sales in the product development stage. Formulates and executes long-term plans for cost and profit control. Promotes use of new technologies and industry-leading trends.
All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute product strategies across key growth pillars, including Cross-Border, Affluent, Everyday Spend, and Emerging Solutions, driving business growth, client adoption, and market share.
- Lead end-to-end product initiatives from opportunity identification and business case development through implementation, commercialization, and performance tracking.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Account Executives, and regional product teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies that accelerate client adoption and portfolio growth.
- Serve as the market subject matter expert, ensuring local product strategies align with market realities, client priorities, and organizational objectives.
- Drive product portfolio performance by monitoring and driving business outcomes, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting revenue objectives, including launching specific value-adding campaigns
- Build strategic relationships with issuers, acquirers, fintechs, merchants, and ecosystem partners to influence product adoption and unlock new business opportunities.
- Influence product prioritization, investment decisions, and market strategy through data-driven insights, competitive analysis, and client engagement.
- Support the development of long-term market and product plans that strengthen Visa's leadership position across key strategic segments.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD.
- Experience in product development and management within financial or fintech industries.
- Experience in roles such as product manager, product owner, business process analyst, or sales operations.
- Experience in applying Agile principles across design, development, testing, and product management.
- Experience in developing software capabilities to support sales, service, or customer relationship management functions.
- Experience in project management and execution against tight deadlines.
- Experience in strategic thinking, analytical skills, and financial acumen.
- Experience in collaborating across organizations and managing complex projects.
- Experience in utilizing industry trends to develop products and digital offerings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD.
- Agile certifications such as CSM and CSPO, or their equivalent.
- Experience in identifying, assessing, and managing tradeoffs in product development.
- Experience in identifying points of failure and formulating error-handling approaches for product resiliency.
- Experience in financial and fintech industries.
- Experience in product development and management as an advantage.
