Job Description
Overview:
The Global Client Team manages some of Visa's largest, most strategic, and complex client relationships globally. Working across all five Visa regions, the team delivers a unified engagement model that enables clients to achieve their strategic ambitions while accelerating Visa's growth.
Aligned with Visa's 2030 strategy, the Global Client Team partners with leading financial institutions, fintechs, remitters, acquirers, and processors to drive innovation, expand payments adoption, and unlock growth across Consumer Payments, Commercial & Money Movement Solutions (CMS), and Value-Added Services (VAS).
As the Director - Global Clients, you will own and lead Visa's strategic relationships with a portfolio of global clients while identifying and developing new opportunities as client coverage expands.
You will be responsible for defining and executing client strategies, driving revenue growth, originating and closing complex commercial opportunities, and mobilizing Visa's global resources to deepen partnerships and deliver meaningful business outcomes. A key focus of the role will be shaping solutions that support clients' Commercial Banking, Treasury, Transaction Banking, B2B Payments, Cross-Border, and Cash Management ambitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own executive-level relationships with assigned global clients, serving as a trusted advisor to senior banking and payments leaders.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans that accelerate growth across Consumer Payments, CMS, and VAS, while delivering against revenue, sales, and business objectives.
- Identify and lead opportunities across B2B Payments, Commercial Cards, Treasury, Cash Management, Cross-Border Payments, and Money Movement solutions, helping clients modernize payment flows and unlock growth opportunities.
- Lead complex commercial engagements, strategic partnerships, and assist enterprise-wide deal negotiations across multiple markets and regions.
- Influence and coordinate cross-functional teams across Sales, Product, Consulting, Risk, Finance, Marketing, Legal, and Client Services to deliver client outcomes and achieve business objectives.
- Identify emerging market, competitive, regulatory, and technology trends and translate these into actionable client growth opportunities.
- Lead executive business reviews, strategic planning discussions, and governance forums with internal and external stakeholders.
Visa requires at least 4 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; and an MBA from a top University.
- 10+ years of experience within Commercial Banking, Transaction Banking, Treasury Services, Corporate Banking, Payments, Financial Institutions Coverage, or related sectors.
- Proven success managing strategic client relationships and delivering revenue growth within multinational financial institutions.
- Strong understanding of Commercial Banking and Treasury ecosystems, including Transaction Banking, Corporate Payments, Commercial Cards, Cash Management, Working Capital, Liquidity, Trade, and Cross-Border Payments.
- Deep knowledge of the global payments landscape, including issuing, acquiring, commercial payments, money movement, and value-added services.
- Demonstrated ability to originate, structure, negotiate, and execute large-scale strategic and commercial agreements.
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders across Commercial Banking, Transaction Banking, Treasury, Payments, Corporate Cards, and Digital Channels functions within global financial institutions.
- Exceptional executive presence, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior decision-makers.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives within highly matrixed global organizations.
