Job Summary:
The HR Generalist will support human resources operations at a manufacturing plant operating in a unionized environment. This role partners with plant leadership, employees, and union representatives to support workforce relations, staffing, employee engagement, policy administration, compliance, training, and HR programs. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced plant environment, balancing employee advocacy with business needs, and helping ensure consistent application of labor agreements, company policies, and employment practices.

What you will do:
- Responsible for support in execution of HR strategies and programs that support business and corporate goals.
- Provide day-to-day HR support and guidance to employees and supervisors on questions, concerns, and HR-related matters.
- Oversees staffing efforts, new employee onboarding, HR training programs, employee communications and employee engagement initiatives.
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation in accordance with company policy, labor requirements, and legal standards.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret HR related data for report generation and management decision making
- Partner with managers on attendance, corrective action, and employee relation issues, such as conducting and completing investigations regarding allegations, complaints, or other concerns brought up from employees.
- Support union-related processes such as grievance tracking, documentation and preparation for labor meetings.
- Assist with administration and interpretation of the collective bargaining agreement in partnership with HR leadership and plant management.
- Promote a positive, respectful workplace culture aligned with safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

- This job will require 5-10% travel.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required
- Past experience in a manufacturing plant environment, strongly preferred
- Experience with a broad HR Generalist skill, including employee relations, recruiting, local and federal law knowledge.
- Experience supporting employees in a unionized setting, strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a professional, positive, courteous manner at all times
- Detail-orientated, organized, with a strong sense of urgency.
- Self-motivated with ability to establish priorities and effectively manage multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of HR Systems – Workday and UKG experience preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft office applications
