Summary:
The Warehouse Team Leader leads by example to support a safe, respectful, productive, and accountable work environment aligned with Trane Technologies values and leadership principles. This role is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, coaching associates, driving performance, promoting safety, and fostering a culture of trust, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safety
- Always promote and model a safety-first mindset.
- Complete daily behavioral-based safety observations and submit concern reports in GenSuite.
- Maintain a safe work environment and report safety concerns immediately.
- Address concerns in the moment through coaching.
- Participate in investigations as needed and keep the Warehouse Supervisor informed of all coaching and investigations.
Leadership
- Promote a culture of positivity, inclusivity, and respect.
- Follow and enforce handbook policies and model appropriate workplace behavior.
- Be a positive and motivating influence on team members.
- Listen to employee concerns and treat employees, equipment, and personal belongings with respect.
- Lead constructive conversations, assume positive intent, and use professional coaching language.
Communication
- Promote a culture of trust, accountability, and professionalism.
- Communicate proactively about changes, reminders, and upcoming events.

Productivity

- Track attendance and daily/hourly warehouse metrics.
- Actively address missed targets involving execution, service levels, inbound, safety, shipping errors, and inventory accuracy.
- Complete assigned tasks and projects on time.
- Maintain daily Leader Standard Work and submit completed LSW weekly to the Supervisor.
- Provide staffing and execution updates at MDI.
- Maintain at least one active JDI for missed targets and open a 9-step A3 for monthly misses.
- Spend at least 90% of the workday on the floor supporting associates.
- Create and maintain standard work and work instructions for assigned areas.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse, distribution center, or logistics experience preferred.
- Prior leadership or team lead experience is preferred.
- Experience using Oracle, warehouse management systems (WMS), and general computer applications.
- Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Working knowledge of safety practices, warehouse processes, performance metrics, and inventory control.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.

Physical Demands
- Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds.
- Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
- Any lifting above 50 pounds should be done mechanically.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment and Conditions
This position works in a typical warehouse environment, with the majority of time spent on the warehouse floor supporting associates and operations. The role may require standing, walking, and engaging in daily physical warehouse activity in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and quality standards.
The employee may occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme heat, and fumes from forklifts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
This position is for 2nd Shift. 2:00PM - 11:00PM.
