HR Student

THERMO KING GALWAY

 

We are currently recruiting for a paid placement with our HR team in Thermo King Galway.  This placement would suit a Commerce/Business student currently completing HR modules looking to gain hands-on experience, working with a busy team. 

 

In this role you will gain experience working with operations and commercial teams, as well as working with unions.

 

You will be mentored by an experienced HR team who will support your professional development.  You will gain a unique experience and gain an incredible amount of experience during your placement with Thermo King.  This is a challenging placement, suited to a candidate who is motivated and interested in building their HR knowledge.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

·        Support with the hourly recruitment process; including screening CVs, scheduling and conducting interviews, completing reference checks and supporting onboarding activities.

• Update our internal databases with new employee information.

·        Gather payroll data such as working hours, leaves and payment details.

·        Post, update and remove job ads from job boards, careers pages and social networks.

·        Prepare HR-related reports as needed, such as absenteeism, headcount and overtime reports.

·        Address employee queries about benefits such as healthcare and Cycle to Work.

·        Support employees and managers with queries relating to leave entitlements, e.g. annual leave, parental and maternity leave.

·        Review and distribute company policies in digital formats or hard copies.

·        Participate in organizing company events and careers days.

 

Requirements:

 

·        Basic Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel is an advantage.

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·        Strong desire to learn and develop.

·        Organized and self-motivated.

·        Empathetic and confidential.
