TD recognizes a strong risk culture and approach to risk management is fundamental to our success and employs the Three Lines of Defence model to Risk Management that emphasizes and balances strong independent oversight with clear ownership for risk across the Bank.
Risk Market Place (RMP) is a strategic asset that strengthens TD's risk-taking capability, enabling excellence and early value realization while keeping the Bank safe. RMP works directly with Journey and Platform teams (and in some cases adjacent teams) to provide real-time risk mitigation and guidance.
As part of the first line of defence, the Canadian Commercial Banking (CCB) RMP 1B team supports the effective and timely delivery of CCB Journey initiatives. RMP 1Bs are at the core of the interaction model between the first line and the second line of defense. Risk Marketplace 1Bs are expected to maintain specialized business segment and / or line knowledge and general risk knowledge of key domains. They provide guidance on control requirements and know when and if risk domain specialists are required.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will provide governance and controls guidance and oversight for Journeys/Platforms at the Product Group/cross-POD level and they will support the RMP 1B Lead.
They will also be responsible for key accountabilities as outlined below:
Maintain and enhance risk culture and awareness within the Journey.
Support the early identification and assessment of risks, controls and mitigations to meet risk objectives and regulatory compliance.
Oversee the timely completion of risk assessments (e.g., CRA, PIA, DIA, etc.) and engage Journey stakeholders, other 1B functions and Risk & Control Partners as required.
Act as the primary point of escalation for risk issues and engage Journey stakeholders, other 1B functions and Risk & Control Partners as required ensuring coverage on stories and individual PODs.
Provide oversight into the aggregate view of risk and report on risk issues and themes that merit attention from Journey leadership and Risk & Control Partners in a timely manner.
Highly seasoned professional role requiring substantial business knowledge and provides broad risk knowledge across multiple risk domains (e.g., Compliance, Privacy, AML, ORM, etc.)
Build and maintain effective and productive relationships with stakeholders.
Stay up to date on current and emerging industry and business developments and trends.
Evolve risk capabilities and business knowledge and stay up to date on related methodologies and tools and contribute to RMP development of skills and capabilities by sharing knowledge and experiences.
Ensure alignment with the Risk Marketplace Playbook and Journeys operating manual.

Job Requirements:
Skills and Capabilities
Advanced industry and business knowledge in Operational Risk or Regulatory Compliance (including AML), and general understanding of other major risk categories and TD Scaled Agile methodology
Solid understanding of policies and processes across the major risk categories and the ability to interpret, apply and translate these requirements for the Journey stakeholders
Strong communication, collaboration and relationship management skills
Strategic thinker with ability to understand larger contexts, strategic goals and enterprise impacts
Self-starter and quick learner with excellent judgement and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a complex and ambiguous environment
Ability to manage conflicting points of view and to arrive at appropriate conclusions
Experience leading and supporting change
Undergraduate degree preferred
7+ years of relevant experience
Commercial Banking Centre experience is considered an asset
