Job Description:
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
Prime Services sits within the Market Risk and Collateral Risk Analytics teams which are responsible for the market and credit risk reporting for TD Securities and related Prime Service business lines. A global, multi-faceted and cross product team, the primary objective of the Prime Services department is the mitigation of counterparty credit risk through the active monitoring of clients’ Cash Prime brokerage collateral and OTC and Security Financing Transactions (SFT) to ensure collateral levels provide adequate coverage of the exposures the clients have with TD Bank. The team manages both the Canadian Prime Brokerage and US Prime Services risk reporting.
The team has a rare opportunity to be exposed to risk management of Hedge Funds and professional investors. Products monitored include equities, options, bonds, warrants, Repos and Over-The-Counter Derivatives. The team manages a wide range of complex processes, with members developing skills and competencies around derivatives, regulatory margin requirements, stress testing, review of portfolio liquidity and concentration, and independent price verification (IPV).
JOB DESCRIPTION
An analyst within the Prime Services team will primarily be focused on analysis, reporting, and monitoring of risk exposures ensuring that they are in accordance with established policy and client limits and/or thresholds. The incumbent is expected to execute on infrastructure changes with regards to new or revised policies.
The role will involve close partnership and interaction with a wide range of areas, including the front office, credit risk management, global markets credit, market risk, model teams, audit, and change delivery. As a result, the successful candidate will be required to possess strong communication skills.
The Analyst, Prime Services would be accountable for the following core responsibilities, but are not limited to:
Generate accurate and complete processes to measure and report on exposures ensuring that all reports are submitted as per reporting guidelines.
Ensure risks within portfolios covered are correctly measured, aggregated, and analyzed in accordance with established and approved risk policies limits.
Provide analysis, reporting and monitoring of risk exposures and adhere to internal standards with regards to violations and the escalation of production issues.
Ensure that all late or missing reports and related process metrics are recorded, documented and explained appropriately.
Manage operational risk (e.g., cross-training, documentation, and audit).
Liaise closely with the Bank’s front office relationship managers, Credit Risk Management, Global Markets Credit, Market Risk, audit, technology groups, and other stakeholders to assist in meeting the Bank’s objectives.
Perform ad-hoc analyses of specific metrics/exposures/transactions as required by management and stakeholders.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Data, Business/Commerce or related field
Experience in analysis and reporting roles or strong knowledge related to Equity Products, Fixed Income, Exchange Traded Options, Repos, and/or Over the Counter trades will be favoured
Understanding of Call and Put Option mechanics and pricing models
Understanding of regulatory margin rules from CIRO and FINRA

Candidates with experience in Risk Management roles will be favourably positioned
Candidates with CFA and/or FRM designations will be favourably positioned
Technical skills (Excel/SQL/VBA/Python/AI tools, etc.) will also be viewed favourably.
