Senior Software Engineer & Team Manager

Summary:
Senior Engineering Leader working closely with the Head of Wealth Engineering, responsible for driving the design, delivery, and evolution of Charles River’s Wealth platform capabilities.
This role owns engineering outcomes for a defined domain within the Wealth platform, partnering with Product, Architecture, and Client Delivery to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. The VP leads engineering teams in Poland, providing strong technical and organizational leadership across complex, mission-critical systems supporting global wealth management clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own delivery and technical direction for a significant area within the Wealth platform
- Lead multiple engineering teams (~30–40 engineers) through Team Leads, ensuring execution, quality, and accountability
- Drive end-to-end delivery across the software development lifecycle, from design through production support
- Partner with Product Management to align engineering execution with business priorities
- Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable engineering solutions
- Guide architectural decisions to ensure scalability, performance, and resilience
- Provide technical leadership on complex system design and key engineering challenges
- Build and develop high-performing teams, including hiring, mentoring, and growing Team Leads and engineers
- Collaborate with peer engineering teams, Client Delivery, and Support on critical initiatives and client issues
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 10–15+ years of experience in software engineering, including leadership of enterprise-scale systems
- Proven experience leading multiple teams through Team Leads or managers
- Strong track record delivering scalable, high-quality platforms in production environments
- Strong technical background in Java or C#/.NET, distributed systems, and database design
- Experience with cloud-native architectures, event-driven systems, and modern engineering practices
- Experience in financial services or wealth management platforms preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
This job is a hybrid role with at 3 days in the office per week, which you can perform from our office in Krakow.
Minimum Salary:
zł282 000 AnnualThe minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.
Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.
In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.
