Who we are looking for
The Markets APAC Business Risk Management (BRM) is an independent team from the Markets businesses and Operations function. The team is responsible for building and maintaining a holistic view of the processes, risks and controls for Markets in the region.
The role will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing APAC Markets ’s compliance with regulatory requirements and risk management practices, develop and champion Risk Excellence programs.
The Head of BRM should manage multiple internal and external stakeholders, establish key targets for the team(s) and continuously improve the operating model in line with the objectives of the bank. BRM, support group within the First Line of Defense (FLOD) service and support all Markets products across multiple legal entities.
What you will be responsible for
As Markets Business Risk Advisor, you will
- Oversee successful delivery of all FLOD risk and controls initiatives in accordance with relevant policies and framework(s). Work closely with the outsourced provider functional heads and the various COE’s leveraged by Markets to ensure a high level of coordination and transparency into risk and controls.
- Strengthen the collaboration and coordination between the various FLOD, Compliance, Risk, Audit and Legal teams, regulators (including the Federal Reserve)
- Oversee the various APAC Markets risk programs including Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Material Risk Inventory (MRI) and Business Unit Risk acceptance
- Provide APAC Markets Mgmt and the BRME with a holistic view of risk and controls to make informed decisions.
- Provide strategic and tactical leadership of end-to-end issue management and actions to prevent recurrence Oversee FLOD compliance controls documentation, execution, assessment and ongoing monitoring & testing program
- Improve the identification, quality and monitoring of Key Risk Indicators, including timely reporting and processing of incidents in the incidents database, ICAMS.
- Oversee Markets’ : Information Security Risk Management Program (ISRMP), data privacy, Corporate Information Security (CIS) controls, access recertification and acts as the oversight on APAC Markets Information Security Officer.
- Foster risk awareness across all global functions acting as the Business Risk Executive for Markets APAC with attendance to various management committee and risk committees & forum. Lead or actively participate in various projects as required.
- Ensure that the business unit operates in compliance with internal and external regulations and that escalation procedures are followed
- Monitor and escalate all pending and overdue Audit issues and Compliance and Operational issues (Archer items)
- Ensure that all procedures, systems and controls are regularly reviewed and in line with the risk profile of the bank.
- Provide tactical and strategic oversight to Markets BCP policy and testing
- Provide tactical and strategic oversight to Markets Outsourcing and vendor management.
- Act as central point of contact for the APAC CEO on all risk and control matters and have a consolidated view of key risks and issues across all Businesses in region.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- University degree in business or more than 10 years’ work experience
- Strong leader
- Good communicator
- Ability to anticipate challenges and opportunities
- Successful track record in problem-solving
- Experience in working in Global/Capital Markets
- Experience with Business Capabilities Models and Risk management protocols
- Understands how to motivate staff
