Who We Are Looking For
State Street's Global Delivery Simplification (GDS) program is transforming how we deliver across Global Delivery - simplifying operating models, embedding Agentic AI, and modernizing workstreams across Operations. The PMO is the engine room of the program, running the governance discipline and executive reporting cadence across a portfolio of traditional and Agentic AI initiatives.
We are hiring a PMO Governance & Reporting Lead to strengthen this engine. This is a versatile role: at its core, it is a PMO seat focused on governance, execution and reporting. Candidates who additionally bring reporting-automation or data-engineering skills (Clarity, Power BI, Fabric, SQL, Python) will be positioned to shape the modernization of our reporting fabric alongside their PMO remit.
Role Purpose
Own the operating cadence and reporting quality of the GDS Transformation PMO, ensuring disciplined execution, transparent status, and high-quality executive content across both traditional workstreams and Agentic AI delivery. Where the candidate's skillset allows, extend that ownership into the automation and modernization of the PMO reporting fabric.
Core Responsibilities (PMO)
1. Program Governance & Framework Ownership
Own and continuously evolve the GDS PMO governance structure and supporting artefacts, including RAID, Stakeholder Tracking, Document Storage, Access Control, Accomplishment Tracker, and Roles & Responsibilities.
Maintain the integrity of the three-tier governance model — Exec Group, Steering Group, and Workstream Execution Check-ins — ensuring cadence, decision rights and escalation paths operate as designed.
Enforce reporting standards, data definitions, and governance controls across both traditional and Agentic AI portfolios.
2. Execution Oversight & Constructive Challenge
Coordinate the program's execution tracking with Execution Liaisons, ensuring a consistent, timely approach across PMO.
Challenge status, milestones and RAG positions brought forward by Workstream Program Owners - testing assumptions, surfacing slippage early, and pushing for credible recovery plans.
Drive disciplined, high-quality Clarity updates across the program, ensuring progress, risks, dependencies and milestones are captured consistently and ready for executive reporting.
Support Liaisons to keep projects aligned to GDS objectives, benefits and timescales, intervening where drift is detected.
3. Executive Reporting & Content Preparation
Prepare program-level materials and decision-ready content for Executive forums.
Curate Workstream Status Reporting (Clarity), Executive Reporting and Regional Reporting (UKCMC, SSBI, eCMO) into clear, outcome-focused narratives.
Translate raw execution, RAID and KPI data into meaningful analyses that connect the dots across workstreams - identifying systemic risks, dependencies and value-creation opportunities.
4. Reporting, Risk & Change Discipline
Oversee RAID governance across the program, ensuring risks, assumptions, issues and decisions are escalated and monitored based on cost, time and scope impact.
Support the FTE Change Control Log and Budget Change Control processes in line with the Enterprise Change Management Framework and Clarity change control process.
Act as a trusted right-hand to the PMO Lead and Program Lead, executing ad-hoc requests with speed and quality.
Extended Responsibilities (Technical / Reporting-Engineering Track)
Candidates bringing data-engineering or reporting-automation capabilities will additionally be expected to lead the modernization of the PMO reporting fabric:
Automate end-to-end Clarity reporting - pipelines, extracts, refresh cycles, and data quality controls — reducing manual handling across the monthly SteerCo cadence.
Build and maintain a PMO reporting fabric in Power BI / Microsoft Fabric (or equivalent), with role-based views for Initiative Owners, SteerCo, and Exec SteerCo audiences.
Integrate data sources across Clarity, Planner, finance systems, and Agentic platforms to deliver a single source of truth for portfolio health.
Drive a measurable productivity unlock
Support audit-readiness by ensuring data lineage, version control, and access governance on all PMO reporting assets.
What You Will Bring
Experience & Background (Required)
5-7+ years in PMO, program governance or transformation delivery roles within financial services, asset servicing, or a comparable regulated environment.
Demonstrable experience supporting large, multi-workstream programs with senior stakeholder exposure (MD / EVP / Board level).
Hands-on track record in both traditional waterfall/agile delivery and AI / automation-enabled delivery (Agentic AI, GenAI, intelligent automation) governance.
PMO Tooling & Discipline (Required)
Strong working knowledge of Clarity (or equivalent EPM tooling), RAID management, milestone tracking and benefits realisation.
Advanced PowerPoint and Excel (pivot tables, dashboards, charting) - able to produce branded, exec-ready outputs with minimal supervision.
Familiarity with Enterprise Change Management Frameworks and operational risk reporting (RCSA-aligned).
Capabilities (Required)
Sharp analytical mind - able to connect the dots across workstreams, regions and functions, and translate that into a single executive story.
Comfortable challenging status constructively with senior leaders; bringing data, not opinion.
Outcome-driven communication style - concise, board-ready, free of jargon.
High standards for professionalism, branding and visual hierarchy in deliverables.
Resilient operator who thrives in ambiguity and tight deadlines.
Technical / Reporting-Engineering Skills (Nice to Have)
Hands-on expertise in Clarity PPM (data model, extracts, reporting APIs) and Power BI / Microsoft Fabric (data models, DAX, dataflows, semantic layers).
Proficient in SQL and Python for data transformation, automation, and integration.
Experience designing executive-grade dashboards - clean, opinionated, and outcome-driven (not data dumps).
Familiarity with Agentic AI / GenAI portfolio metrics (adoption, scale rate, value realization) will be an asset.
Track record of automating manual reporting workflows and quantifying the productivity gain.
Working knowledge of data governance, lineage, and access controls in a regulated setting.
Experience with Microsoft Planner, To Do, and the wider M365 reporting ecosystem.
Qualifications (Preferred)
Bachelor's degree (Business, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or related).
PMP, PRINCE2, MSP or Agile certification.
Exposure to AI governance frameworks is a plus.
Behavioral Profile
Builder mindset - solves the root cause, not the surface symptom.
Exec-aware communicator - can translate complexity into 1-slide clarity.
High-trust collaborator - operates credibly with VPs, MDs, and SteerCo audiences.
Bias to productivity - measures own success in hours saved and decisions enabled.
Discreet and reliable - handles sensitive portfolio data with judgment.
