Private Markets – Fund Accounting & Administration Director, Vice President
State StreetPurpose Of Role:
The main purpose of Private Markets VP Role is to provide active leadership within our fast-growing Private Markets department in line with the agreed strategy and objectives of both the Alternatives Business globally and State Street Poland.
The successful individual will have an opportunity to contribute to the continued significant growth of our Private Equity sector. The ongoing expansion of PM presence in Poland will bring in a variety of product types and asset classes such as Fund of Funds, Hybrid, Credit, Infrastructure, Real Assets and many others - providing a unique expertise knowledge base in Poland.
The successful candidate should have an understanding of client service requirements, processes and procedures for PM fund accounting and fund administration as well as a very high level of coordination skills to be able to successfully cooperate with all internal and external stakeholders.
Specific Duties:
Leadership:
- Responsible for the achievement of specific department performance targets and objectives and ensuring that budgetary limits are not exceeded
- Able to independently manage given budget while ensuring resources are properly allocated and target productivity is achieved
- Cooperate easily with local teams and various business partners in other State Street locations to ensure highest quality service is delivered to our Clients
- Exercise operational oversight within the department and make sound operational decisions
- Able to articulate operational requirements into a strategic plan with deliverables
- Contribute to the development of the organization in terms of financial planning, business strategy, service offerings and HR policies
- Create and drive a culture of strict adherence of all Corporate and Departmental procedures.
- Provide leadership and support to the department managers and senior managers necessary for ensuring their teams are organized & working as efficiently & controlled as possible
Resource Management:
- Identify and secure resources required by the department and ensure effective utilization
- Ensure that Private Markets Department is properly resourced both in terms of people and technology whilst complying with agreed budgetary guidelines
- Assist more senior colleagues and deputise in their absence
- Utilise management information to assist in managing both clients and resources
- Focus on development opportunities for all employees within your management structure and ensure a focus on non-operational management within the department
- Using MyWorkDay, actively participate in the performance appraisal process and monitor overall timeliness of completion for the entire team with your direct reports
Risk and Regulatory:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and with the relevant short, medium and long-term goals, objectives and values of the organization
- Promote risk awareness, assessment and control within the department
- Drive the development and implementation of appropriate procedures to meet internal control and external compliance/regulatory requirements
- Understand the risk environment within the department and manage appropriately
Communication:
- Provide regular feedback to managers and more senior colleagues
- Lead and contribute to operational, client, risk, audit and regulatory meetings as required
Change Management:
- Initiate and oversee tasks within a continuous improvement drive to ensure that the Department is efficient and seen as customer and quality driven
- Provide support during the implementation of change
- Ensure participation in the completion and implementation of department wide projects and lead local team initiatives
Knowledge:
- Comprehensive procedural, technical and product knowledge of PM Fund Accounting is required
- Proficiency in PM specific technology like Investran, Geneva and Oracle is required.
Level Of Education:
- Degree in Accounting or Finance or Business related area preferable
Previous Level Of Experience:
- Typically candidate for the VP role will have 10 years of experience with at least 7 years specific relevant experience working on Private Equity, Private Credit or FOF fund structures.

Minimum Salary:
zł282,000 AnnualThe minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.
Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.
In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.
