Who we are looking for:
You will be joining the SSBI Regulatory Reporting team based in the Krakow office, which is responsible for the delivery of regulatory reporting for State Street Bank International GmbH and its European branches.
As part of the Regulatory Reporting Change Management team, you will assume the role of Data Steward for the primary regulatory reporting application, Abacus360. In this role, you will support data governance, data quality, and application management activities to help ensure compliance with BCBS239 and other regulatory requirements across the European regulatory reporting landscape.
What you will be responsible for:
- Actively manage and govern the primary regulatory reporting application Abacus360 to ensure compliance with BCBS239 principles and internal data governance standards.
- Ensure Abacus360 and its associated data flows, ownerships, controls, and lineage are accurately maintained and regularly updated within the enterprise data governance platform (Collibra).
- Perform and oversee the maintenance, implementation, and continuous monitoring of application- and reporting-specific data quality, completeness, reconciliation, and consistency controls.
- Support the identification, assessment, and remediation of data quality issues impacting regulatory reporting processes and submissions.
- Lead and own the end-to-end data quality resolution process in alignment with the framework and governance standards defined by the Chief Data Office (CDO).
- Coordinate with business, technology, and data stakeholders to investigate, track, escalate, and resolve data quality incidents and control deficiencies
- Ensure appropriate documentation, transparency, and audit traceability for data quality findings and remediation activities.
- Support the operational management, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of the Abacus360 application and the relationship with the external vendor Regnology.
- Lead application release management, including planning, coordination, testing, and implementation of hotfixes, patches, regulatory updates, and new software releases.
- Coordinate and oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) activities to ensure stable and compliant implementation of system changes.
- Participate in weekly ticket review sessions, monthly service review meetings, and ad hoc governance or escalation meetings with the vendor and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor application stability, issue resolution progress, and vendor service delivery against agreed expectations and timelines.
- Act as a key liaison between Regulatory Reporting, Technology, Data Governance, and external vendors to ensure effective communication and alignment on regulatory reporting data matters.
- Provide subject matter expertise and ad hoc operational support to the SSBI Regulatory Reporting team across data governance, application management, regulatory reporting controls, and issue resolution activities.
What we value:
- Deep technical and functional understanding of the regulatory reporting platform Abacus360, including data models, rule sets, interfaces, workflows, and reporting processes.
- Strong understanding of regulatory reporting data flows and the related business processes across Finance, Risk, and Regulatory Reporting functions.
- Practical hands-on experience with relational databases and querying tools, including Oracle and SQL Server.
- Strong understanding of data governance and data management principles, including data lineage, data quality, metadata management, reconciliation frameworks, and BCBS239 requirements.
- Experience in managing data quality controls, issue resolution processes, and system testing within a regulatory reporting environment.
- Ability to analyze complex data issues, identify root causes, and coordinate sustainable remediation actions across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical and regulatory matters to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to collaborate and build effective working relationships with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, IT, Data Governance, Operations, and external vendors in a global environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate cross-functional activities, and work effectively under tight regulatory deadlines.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in the financial industry, preferably in capital markets or financial markets infrastructure, with roles in data governance, risk management of compliance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to details.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting applications and tools (e.g. Regnology -Abacus360, Abacus Transaction)
- Proficiency in the handling of data governance tools (Collibra, IBM InfoSphere) is a plus
- Experience in using BI Tools - Alteryx or Power BI in creating dashboards and data profiling will be an additional advantage
Minimum Salary:
zł182,004 Annual
The minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.
Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.
In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.
