Graduate Archaeology & Heritage Consultant in our bustling
Newcastle office, where you will be part of a market-leading Environmental Services discipline.
About The Role As a graduate consultant, you will contribute to a wide range of archaeological and heritage projects, from small-scale regional developments to nationally significant infrastructure schemes. You will work closely with experienced heritage specialists, gaining hands-on experience across research, site assessment, regulatory liaison, and project management. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough desk-based assessments, historical research, and archival reviews to evaluate archaeological potential and heritage significance.
- Processing, analysing, and interpreting spatial, environmental, and historical data sets using GIS mapping and heritage databases.
- Assisting senior consultants in developing practical archaeological and heritage mitigation strategies and management plans.
- Contributing to the production of high-quality technical reports, environmental impact assessment (EIA) heritage chapters, and written schemes of investigation (WSI).
- Liaising with clients, project teams, local planning authorities, and statutory consultees (e.g., Historic England, Historic Environment Scotland).
