Primary Purpose of the Role Sustainability Engineer is responsible for developing comprehensive building energy models, conducting advanced environmental simulations, and supporting sustainable design strategies by carrying out green building document facilitation. The role involves analyzing building performance in accordance with international green building rating systems and providing data‑driven recommendations to enhance sustainability outcomes across multiple disciplines, including architecture, HVAC design, lighting, and embodied carbon assessment. Key Responsibilities 1. Green Building Facilitation
- Analyze and optimize the performance of HVAC systems, lighting systems, Daylight / View requirements, building envelopes, and passive design strategies using software tools, spreadsheets, and manual engineering calculations and generate reports required to achieve compliance.
- Conduct assessments related to Green Star, LEED, BREEAM, Net Zero, Carbon emission with emphasis on credit categories.
- Prepare clear, logical, and comprehensive reports, technical spreadsheets, and professional PowerPoint presentations.
- Prepare calculation for sustainable building materials, potable water usage, IAQ, waste management and transportation assessment.
- Conduct life cycle analysis (LCA) using eTool, OneClick or equivalent.
2. Energy & Performance Modelling
- Analyze projects for Green Star, LEED, BREEAM, Green building rating system compliance for credit achievements.
- Prepare detailed building energy models using HERO,IESVE to support sustainable design strategies and green building rating compliance.
Project Management & Coordination
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams through emails, meetings, and project correspondence to gather necessary inputs and ensure alignment with sustainability objectives.
- Communicate and explain analysis results, design implications, and recommendations to project managers and stakeholders.
- Attend project meetings, track progress, and ensure timely follow‑up on assigned tasks.
- Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Provide regular updates and technical insights to the project manager.
Preferred Additional Technical Qualifications
- Green Star Accredited Professional (GSAP)
- LEED AP, LEED GA or equivalent
- Knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 62.1, ASHRAE 55 and SMACNA.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong analytical abilities and problem‑solving skills in building performance assessment.
- Proficiency in building simulation tools such as IESVE, and LCA platforms.
- Understanding of green building rating systems and sustainable design principles.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical analyses into clear recommendations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and sustainability consultants.
