Graduate Electrical Engineer in our
Birmingham office, where you will be part of our market-leading Transmission & Distribution (T&D) team within Energy & Resources.
About The Role As aGraduate Electrical Engineer, you will balance technical learning with practical project delivery to support major grid connection, power transmission, and distribution projects across the UK. You will sit within a dedicated engineering group, collaborating closely with cross-discipline specialists across Stantec’s UK offices to deliver high-voltage infrastructure and net-zero energy solutions. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking outline and detailed electrical engineering designs, including power system calculations, cable sizing, and protection system assessments.
- Assisting with technical feasibility studies, capacity assessments, and grid connection reviews for clean energy infrastructure.
- Coordinating electrical designs with associated civil, structural, mechanical, and digital engineering teams.
- Preparing high-quality technical reports, single line diagrams (SLDs), specifications, and client-facing documentation.
- Supporting project managers with workload organisation, progress tracking, and quality self-checking across project deliverables.
- Communicating effectively with internal teams, network operators, and clients to support seamless project delivery.

Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the
Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) or
Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) .

About You At Stantec, we value your potential over past experience. Along with an accredited degree (
BEng/ MEng in Electrical Engineering or a closely related power systems discipline), and a keen interest in the energy transition. You will also be:
