WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US
As the Business Process Optimization Principal, you are responsible for identifying, leading, and supporting strategic initiatives that improve operational performance across the Operations group.
Reporting to the Head of AI Operations, you play a critical role in embedding a culture of continuous improvement by applying Lean, Six Sigma, and other process excellence methodologies. Your work directly enables our agentic AI strategy: by simplifying, standardizing, and stabilizing processes before automation, you ensure that AI is applied to the right problems, with the right design, and with measurable impact.
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how operational excellence and AI come together in a regulated, client-critical environment and by building the disciplines, tools, and rituals that make continuous improvement part of how Operations work every day.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Program leadership & delivery
Lead and execute Lean Six Sigma projects across Operations to drive operational excellence and measurable business outcomes
Analyze business processes end-to-end and identify opportunities for cost reduction, cycle time improvement, quality uplift, and risk reduction
Facilitate Kaizen events, value stream mapping workshops, process walkthroughs, and structured problem-solving sessions across Operations teams
Track and report project progress, benefits realization, and ROI to senior leadership on a defined cadence
Process excellence & AI readiness
Partner with the Head of AI Operations and the Ops AI Enablement team to ensure processes are simplified, standardized, and stabilized before they are automated or augmented with AI
Translate operational pain points into clearly scoped improvement initiatives, distinguishing between process redesign, automation, and AI-led opportunities
Maintain a prioritized pipeline of CI initiatives that complements the AI use case backlog, with clear value hypotheses and success metrics
Data, measurement & insight
Collect and analyze process and performance data using statistical and analytical tools (e.g. Minitab, JMP, Excel, Power BI)
Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and control plans to ensure improvements are sustained
Define and operate the measurement framework for CI - baselines, targets, control limits, and reporting that holds up in business and Board-level reviews
Capability building & culture
Build CI capability across Operations through training, coaching, and mentoring of Green Belts, Yellow Belts, and process owners
Embed a culture of continuous improvement, empowering teams to identify, prioritize, and implement enhancements in their own areas
Collaborate cross-functionally within Operations and with key groups outside of operations to deliver improvements that stick
Promote CI ways of working alongside AI-enabled ways of working, ensuring the two reinforce rather than compete with each other
WHAT WE VALUE
Experience & background
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in process improvement, operational excellence, or transformation roles
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, operations, or a related field
Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from an accredited certifying body (ASQ, IASSC, BQF or equivalent), complemented by a project management certification (PMP, Prince2)
Ability to lead impactful changes in complex, cross-functional environments such as financial services, professional services, or other regulated industries
Exposure to AI, automation, or digital transformation programs, and an understanding of how CI and AI complement each other,
Experience translating Lean Six Sigma from manufacturing into transactional, services, or technology-enabled environments is essential.
Capabilities

Proficiency with statistical analysis tools (Minitab, SigmaXL, or equivalent) and confidence interpreting data to drive decisions
Effective problem-solving, facilitation, and project management skills, with the ability to lead workshops and structured problem-solving sessions
Advanced communication and stakeholder management capabilities, comfortable engaging from the shop floor to senior leadership
Ability to translate operational complexity into clear narratives, prioritization choices, and measurable outcomes
Personal profile
