The Outbound Flow Engineering role is operating under the Outbound & Returns team in Operations Excellence function. The team is responsible for the strategic planning, process design, optimization, and execution of outbound and return & refund process, playing a critical role in maximizing operational efficiency, minimizing cost, improving value recovery, and enhancing the customer and staff experience.
What you'll do
- Redesign picking methodologies by evaluating and implementing zone, batch, or wave strategies tailored to order profiles and density.
- Optimize pack station layouts using ergonomic principles and lean manufacturing techniques to maximize output and reduce handler fatigue.
- Develop sophisticated throughput models to predict operational performance and identify physical or systemic constraints under various volume scenarios.
- Execute peak capacity simulations to stress-test workflows and staffing plans, ensuring operational stability during high-demand periods.
- Perform deep-dive root cause analysis on reworks and mis-picks, implementing systemic safeguards to drive down error rates and secondary handling costs.
- Re-engineer returns grading processes to increase the speed and accuracy of product dispositioning, directly impacting inventory recovery value.
- Drive reverse flow efficiency improvements by streamlining the physical path of returned goods from the dock back to sellable storage or liquidation.
Requirements
- 1–5 years of experience in warehouse, supply chain operations or logistics, with a proven track record in process optimization and performance improvement; candidates with relevant internship experience in large-scale warehouses or distribution centers are considered.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data on operational performance and efficiency, cost and operational flow.
- Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to deconstruct complex, ambiguous challenges into actionable solutions by leveraging data-driven logic and strategic thinking.
- Proficiency in using data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL) to track and generate insights from performance metrics.
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in verbal and written English communication to collaborate with international teams if needed.
