What you'll be doing
As our Backend Software Engineer II - Consumer Growth Domain, you’ll be the person who plays a key role in shaping the future of digital payments by designing and building scalable features that drive user growth, reduce friction for new users, and create sustainable value for our community. Here's what your day-to-day will look like:
Contribute to the Story Lifecycle - Work closely with senior engineers to design, develop, and release robust product stories, taking responsibility for your features from local development to production.
Accelerate Activation & Trust - Build and optimize the high-reliability systems behind onboarding, document verification, and security flows, ensuring users can start transacting safely within minutes.
Drive Engagement & Discovery - Enhance the app experience by developing core backend services for shop discovery, transaction management, and personalized consumer journeys through CRM integrations.
Scale Loyalty & Monetization - Contribute to our "Plus" subscription plans, referral programs, and loyalty mechanics (points and rewards), building the technical foundation for long-term user retention.
Master a Modern Tech Stack - Take ownership of our AWS-based infrastructure (EC2/ECS, S3, Lambda, Kinesis) and participate in architectural improvements across our growth-focused microservices.
Work in an AI-Powered Environment - Leverage AI tools daily to write and optimize code, speed up root cause analysis, and generate documentation, raising the bar for engineering efficiency.
Ensure Quality and Stability - Write clean, testable code, participate in code reviews, and assist the team in incident resolution and root cause analysis to maintain high system health.
Collaborate & Document - Write clear technical documentation for your features and sync with Product and Stakeholders to keep your work aligned with the team roadmap.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for a dynamic problem-solver who is excited about scaling a user base and building seamless digital experiences. Does this sound like you?
Experience - You have at least 1 year of experience as a Backend Engineer, with a strong track record of building and maintaining scalable microservices in fast-paced environments.
Technical Foundations - Solid expertise in Java and Spring Boot, with a good understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and cloud environments. If you’re also passionate about or have hands-on experience building GenAI-driven features, such as backend services using LLMs, orchestration frameworks like LangGraph, or AWS cloud services like Amazon Bedrock, that’s considered a value-add.
Growth Mindset - You care about performance and user experience. You understand that small technical improvements in onboarding or loyalty flows can have a massive impact on millions of users.
Reliability & Documentation - You are structured in your approach, enjoy writing clear technical documentation, and focus on building maintainable, high-quality code.
Teamwork and Communication - You excel at cross-functional collaboration and are able to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical peers.
Passion and Language Skills - You are passionate about FinTech, user growth, or startup environments and are fluent in English.

Salary: €38,000 - €46,000 gross per annum
This range is set using objective, gender-neutral criteria for the role's core requirements. However, we do not believe in putting a ceiling on talent. The final compensation package is tailored according to your unique experience and expertise.
