Santander Corporate & Investment Banking’s Financing Group in Asia Pacific is seeking a senior professional to support the continued growth of its regional financing franchise. The team provides a broad range of financing solutions across syndicated corporate loans, debt capital markets, acquisition / leveraged finance, infrastructure / project finance, real estate finance, asset finance, fund finance and other structured financing products. The successful candidate will play a senior role in origination, structuring, execution, internal approvals, distribution and portfolio management, working closely with relationship coverage, loan syndications, debt capital markets, legal, credit risk, market risk, operations, compliance and other internal stakeholders. The role will have particular responsibility for leading the Financing Group’s fund finance activities in Asia Pacific, while contributing to the broader Financing Group platform across syndicated corporate loans, debt capital markets and structured financing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Fund Finance pillar in Asia Pacific as a senior member of the Financing Group.
Originate, structure and execute fund financing transactions (including subscription lines, NAV / asset-backed facilities, GP facilities, bridge-to-fundraise facilities and other fund-related solutions, etc.) and cross-originate acquisition / leveraged finance, infrastructure / project finance, real estate finance, and debt capital markets solutions where relevant.
Lead client discussions, financing strategy, preparation of marketing materials, transaction structuring, term sheet negotiation, internal approval processes, documentation and closing.
Direct the preparation and review of internal credit papers, financial analysis, financial models, due diligence materials, sensitivity analysis, risk assessment and return analysis.
Work closely with relationship coverage, loan syndications / distribution, debt capital markets, legal, credit risk, market risk, compliance, operations / middle office and other internal stakeholders.
Oversee post-closing portfolio management activities, including exposure monitoring, covenant compliance, cash flow performance, valuation, provisioning, waivers / amendments and refinancing opportunities.
Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to develop Santander’s Financing Group franchise in Asia Pacific and support broader client coverage across sectors and products.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in fund finance (including NAV / asset-backed facilities, GP facilities, bridge-to-fundraise facilities and other fund-related solutions, etc.).
Proven track record of originating, structuring and closing financing transactions with financial sponsors, corporates, financial institutions, and/or government-related clients.
Strong credit, financial analysis and financial modelling skills, with the ability to assess complex cash flow profiles, downside scenarios, risk allocation, transaction returns and portfolio risks.
Good understanding of financing documentation, due diligence, syndication / distribution, internal credit approval processes and cross-border transaction execution.
Strong awareness of credit, market, regulatory, compliance, reputational and conduct risk considerations, with Asia Pacific transaction experience viewed favourably.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with demonstrated leadership ability and strong collaboration skills across internal and external stakeholders; additional Asian languages will be viewed favourably.
