The Team leader 1 Facilities Custodial Supervisor will be responsible for daily oversight of custodial services and custodial personnel. Employees in this job class perform a variety of functions to ensure facilities are clean and free of safety hazards. This job requires knowledge of custodial practices, custodial equipment, customer service techniques, computers, training, coaching, scheduling and the ability to organize and manage multiple projects.
The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of custodial best practices, safety rules, regulations and procedures as well as a strong knowledge and/or experience gained in a leadership or supervisory role.
What You Will Do:
Coordinates, directs, schedules custodial staff and contracted personnel in performing custodial services.
Maintains professional relationships with site customers, suppliers, and employees.
Conducts facility walks, quality control inspections, safety audits and provides feedback to personnel and customers as appropriate.
Supervises staff; ensures competent, motivated staff through hiring, training, counseling, and reviewing performance.
Schedules and prioritizes tasks, and ensures adherence to procedures, regulations and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks.
Reviews employee timecards for accuracy verify hours worked and processes PTO according to payroll procedures.
Monitors absences, sick and vacation days of personnel and to ensure departmental coverage and customer satisfaction.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Work occasional overtime and Saturday and Sunday hours are required.
Primarily support 2nd shift.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Mechanical Engineering Business Administration, Management, or related field and 2 years of relevant facilities experience. In lieu of a degree a combination of relevant experience, education, training or certifications may be considered.
Computer literacy includes skill to operate word processing, spreadsheet and Internet
Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
Strong knowledge of custodial best practices, safety rules, regulations and procedures.
Strong knowledge of methods, materials, chemicals, disinfectants, and equipment used in cleaning offices and buildings,
Strong knowledge of sanitation and safety measures used in the operating cleaning, and care of equipment and work areas,
Use of purchase orders for janitorial supplies and equipment.
Strong organization, written and oral communication skills with the ability to present information and respond to questions from clients, customers and others
Ability to train employees in proper departmental practices and procedures, including safety and proper use of tools and equipment.
Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment to foster teamwork with both external and internal customers.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
US Citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security clearance.
Qualifications You Prefer:
Bi-lingual / Spanish
Experience working with customers and contract execution
Prior experience working with trade unions
Experience in supply ordering and purchase order management with related purchase requisitions

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
