What You Will Do:
P&W PSD is looking for a motivated, high-energy Quality Engineer to guide the assigned inspection area in all facets of supervision and continuous improvement. PSD is an aftermarket facility that specializes in the repair & overhaul of major cases located in Springdale, Arkansas. This position reports to the Quality Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership for employees with consideration for EH&S, quality, delivery and continuous improvement.
- Establish work schedules taking into account customer requirements, resource availability and other priorities.
- Provide effective communications by leading Toolbox meetings and 1-on-1 engagement.
- Effectively coach and facilitate skill enhancement.
- Perform administrative functions including maintaining training, quality and attendance records.
- Establish effective partnerships with other functional areas to provide the best possible business outcome collectively
- Coordinate with other Quality Engineers, Production Engineers & Cell Leaders on daily key action activities.
- Apply CORE, ACE, lean and other continuous improvement techniques to develop and implement process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing quality, throughput and delivery integrity.
- Drive product and process improvements that ensure quality metric goals are met (Escapes, Scrap, Rework and Process Cert).
- Provide effective communications with members of Management on activity status and plans.
- Perform product, process and work instruction audits.
Qualification You Must Have:
- Advanced degree and 6+ months of experience in Quality, Engineering or Operations experience in Manufacturing, Aerospace, Defense, Automotive or other heavily regulated industry; OR Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate’s degree and 4+ years of relevant industry experience. OR High School diploma or Military / Technical Training (ex: A&P Certificate) and 6+ years of relevant industry experience
Qualifications We Prefer:
- University degree ideally in Engineering. Mechanical or Quality Engineering preferred
- ASQ -CQE certification a plus
- FAA Airframes & Powerplant License
- Operations leadership and personnel management experience ideally within a manufacturing production environment
- Aftermarket Aerospace Composite and Overhaul and Repair (MRO) industry experience
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (i.e., AS9100/AS9110 or ISO 9001) and internal audit experience
- Root Cause and Corrective Action experience (QCPC, RCCA Red-X, Fault Tree, etc.)
- Experience with Quality Notifications/Material Review Board
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, familiarity with geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) inspection equipment, tools and methods
- Working knowledge of Pratt & Whitney shop practices & processes, quality standards, and inspections methods & tools
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (CORE/ACE/SixSigma, etc.)
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs, SAP ERP, and Solumina MES
- Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management, shop personnel, external customers and regulatory agencies (i.e. DCMA, FAA, etc.).

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
