For over 70 years, RTX BBN Technologies (BBN) has solved challenging problems through research, exploration, development, and prototyping. BBN’s Non-Kinetic Capabilities and Technologies team leverages computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, math, and physics to tackle customer challenges in electromagnetic warfare (EW), communications, cybersecurity, cyberspace operations, networking, and RF domains for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) customers.
Role Overview:
BBN is looking for creative, entrepreneurial, and highly motivated, scientists, engineers, and developers who want to create, contribute to, and grow cutting-edge research projects for offensive and defensive cyber and EW operations.
What You Will Do:
- Develop next-generation cyber capabilities
- Create or investigate new types of cyber physical systems
- Develop exploits, implants, payloads, and communication stacks based on extensive reverse engineering, vulnerability analysis, and software development
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to solve challenging problems and deliver actionable results
- Operationalize software through extensive testing, documentation, and integration with other systems
- Participate in laboratory and field tests to collect and analyze data, test new capabilities, and perform demonstrations
- Overnight travel required for certain projects

Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field
- Programming skills using one or more of: C/C++ or Python
- Experience with some assembly language (x86/64, ARM, PPC, MIPS, etc.)
- Reverse engineering skills using a tool such as IDA/Ghidra/BinaryNinja.
- Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, wire-level protocols, BGP, RF communications, etc.)
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Capture the Flag (CTF) experience
- OS kernel development experience (e.g., Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android)
- Network programming skills
- Hardware emulation experience
- Working knowledge of RF signal processing and algorithm development
- Hands on experience with system architecture design, prototyping, and technical project leadership
- Active Security Clearance

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
