Let’s talk about the team:
The Devices Mechanical team develops innovative products from concept to production to improve health outcomes for millions of people around the world. Mechanical engineers work within a project team to research, design, develop and verify products that can be manufactured in high volume. As part of the mechanical team, you will work closely with other engineers (mechanical, electrical, systems, software, manufacturing) and industrial designers to shape and realise products that treat sleep apnea, and other respiratory conditions.
Let's talk about responsibilities:
As our successful candidate, you be will ready to:
Take a mature approach to your design work with consideration of requirements relating to marketing, patients and customers, human factors / usability, therapy performance, environmental factors and design for manufacturing and assembly
Take responsibility for the development of components, with a holistic view of how design impacts end users, customers and patients
Understand, assess and mitigate risks associated with the product through processes such as DFMEA
Build prototypes using a range of techniques including additive manufacturing and hand tools
Design and perform tests (including verification and validation) for products to ensure they meet requirements and specifications under anticipated usage scenarios and operating conditions
Solve design problems using a combination of analysis and empirical methods
Assess and effectively communicate the impact of issues to internal customers
Document the development and testing of designs completely and accurately
Work within regulatory requirements such as ISO and FDA and ResMed’s Quality Management System
