ROLE SUMMARY
Oncology Patient Solutions & Alliances (OPSA) | Reports to VP, Oncology Patient Solutions & Alliances
Pfizer Commercial Oncology is introducing the world to the next era of cancer care. With a growing portfolio of novel therapies, industry-leading R&D, and a goal of delivering eight breakthroughs by 2030 across major cancer types, we're translating cutting-edge science into market-shaping impact. Here, you'll partner with exceptional colleagues across scientific, medical, and manufacturing teams, backed by advanced digital and AI-enabled infrastructure and the authority to accelerate medicines from discovery to delivery. Guided by our values of courage, excellence, equity, and joy, you'll have the opportunity to stretch your skills and build a career that evolves with you—across teams, roles, and the Pfizer enterprise. Join us to make history — for patients, for their families, for the future.
At Pfizer Oncology, we are committed to “Outdo Cancer” by advancing transformative medicines wherever we can make a profound difference in the lives of patients. Pfizer Oncology has an industry-leading pipeline across breast, genitourinary (GU), hematology-oncology, and thoracic therapeutic areas. Getting a medicine approved is not the same as getting it to a patient. Prior authorization delays, step therapy, benefit design, and a portfolio shifting from Part D toward buy-and-bill all sit between a prescription and a patient actually starting and staying on therapy. This role exists to close that gap — and increasingly, to anticipate it before it opens. Grounded in the patient voice, this role is accountable for a more connected, proactive, and predictive experience for people living with cancer: anticipating need, reducing barriers, and supporting quality of life across the entire patient journey.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Oncology Patient Solutions Strategy Lead owns the strategy and investment case behind OPSA’s signature patient solutions platforms — Pfizer Oncology Together, This Is Living With Cancer, and My Healthcare Finances — including the oncology co-pay and patient support services (PSS) programs that sit inside them, and leads a team that includes the Global & US Patient Experience Team Lead, whose team is organized around four focus areas (Platforms, Brand Teams & QoL, Innovation, Partnerships) translating quality-of-life insight into adherence and persistency outcomes across the Oncology Business Unit.
This role will work to understand the trends in challenges Oncology patients and their provider care teams face, the complexities creating access, affordability, and adherence issues, and will provide subject matter expertise in Oncology patient solutions and experience programs. Critically, this role leads the shift from reactive support to predictive, AI-enabled support that flags disengagement and abandonment risk early enough to intervene, and connects the right resource to the right patient at the right moment.
As a member of the OPSA Leadership Team, this role serves as a key strategic partner to OPSA functions including Field Reimbursement, Advocacy & Professional Relations, and Health Equity. It partners closely with the US and Global Oncology Franchises, the International Commercial Office (ICO), Portfolio Marketing, Market Access and Patient Solutions (MAPS) leaders including Patient Support Services, Payer Marketing and Channel, the Chief Marketing Office, Pfizer Digital, and Policy & Public Affairs.
This role is the strategic lynch-pin between the Oncology Business Unit, MAPS (USMA & Pfizer Patient Services), Policy & Public Affairs, and the ICO, driving one aligned, predictive patient support strategy across functions. This role will:
