Your Career
The Staff Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Engineer will report to the Manager of Customer Trust. In this role, your primary focus will be leading the engineering design, scaling, and automation of strategic GRC initiatives with a core emphasis on strengthening customer trust programs. Additionally, you will drive the advancement of third-party risk management (TPRM) and Cyber Risk Management initiatives. You will heavily influence technology-selection decisions, design automated workflows, and collaborate cross-functionally across engineering and product teams to drive risk remediation and ensure measurable, scalable security outcomes.
Lead the engineering and implementation of the organization’s GRC framework, with a focus on scaling customer trust, third-party risk management, and technical standards across application, endpoint, and infrastructure security domains.
Drive the technical execution of customer trust initiatives by automating control evidence collection using GRC/AI tools, supporting complex customer audits, and recommending remediation strategies.
Define, operationalize, and monitor key risk and compliance indicators (KRIs/KPIs) leveraging data insights to drive accountability across business units.
Design and scale vendor risk and technical integration assessments using automation and AI across the full TPRM lifecycle: performing vendor onboarding assessments, validating technical controls, and prioritizing remediation efforts.
Provide actionable security intelligence on vendor and customer-facing risks to ensure remediation SLAs are met and control deficiencies are systematically reduced.
Collaborate closely with Legal, Procurement, Product, and Security stakeholders to embed TPRM and Customer Trust requirements into contracts, SLAs, and new product integrations.
Act as a technical mentor and thought leader within the GRC team, publishing implementation guidance and presenting risk metrics to management and technical peers.
Qualifications
10+ years of progressive experience in engineering technical solutions for solving security and compliance problems.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
High technical agility with AI tools and generative AI trends, with a proven ability to creatively apply emerging technologies to automate GRC challenges.
Proven track record of implementing and scaling enterprise GRC frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SOC 2, FedRAMP), with hands-on contributions across policy, standards, and audit readiness.
Experience working in Agile environments, driving iterative improvements in GRC tooling, workflows, and reporting.
Extensive expertise with GRC and automation platforms (e.g., Anecdotes, OneTrust, RSA Archer, MetricStream, SOAR), including designing automated workflows and building executive-ready risk dashboards.
Solid understanding of emerging AI regulations and guidelines (EU AI Act, FTC AI principles, NYDFS AI guidance) and embedding them into vendor risk assessments.
Deep expertise evaluating cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) against shared-responsibility models, CSPM findings, and secure configuration frameworks (CIS, NIST).
Strong technical foundation across application, endpoint, and infrastructure security controls to validate control design and drive remediation of identified gaps.
Professional certifications a plus: CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or relevant cloud security credentials.
