The Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector, Air Dominance Division is seeking a dynamic leader to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals as the Program Director. The position is located in Palmdale, CA and involves travel.
The Director leads all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contracts. Acts as customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes sustaining engineering operating and sustainment concepts. Develop new business or expand the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from sustaining engineering and administrative areas.
In addition to the program role, the program director will support various higher-level operating unit functions such as strategy development, capture, proposals, and internal quality assessments.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 10 years (or Bachelor of Science in STEM and 9 years) of related experience as defined below, OR a master’s degree and 8 years (or Master of Science in STEM and 7 years) of related experience as defined below:
Related experience includes professional and/or military experience to include a background in project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, and/or business management related functions.
3 years in program or project leadership roles.
Must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company.
Willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
EVMS Proficiency.
Ability to obtain SCI/SAP.
Preferred Qualifications:
3 years’ experience as a program manager overseeing at least $100M/year in annual sales and organizing multi-disciplined teams of more than 200 employees supporting diverse customers.
Experience with sustaining engineering support, software sustainment and life cycle management of weapons systems.
Experience in managing geographically separated teams.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong financial acumen.
Demonstrated success in strategy, program execution, and proposal support.
Demonstrated success in maintaining, enhancing, supporting existing products after release, focusing on product life cycle management, quality improvement and cost efficiency.
Demonstrated success in root cause analysis, engineering changes, and improvements to customer experience.
