Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our MDC2 Product Support of organization. This role is located onsite in Melbourne, FL.
In this role you will support the E-2D Hawkeye Program designing readiness and cost improvement solutions for aircraft sustainment in a performance based environment. Modeling and Simulation Analysis will include: cost analysis (Development, Production, Operations & Support, and Business Case Analysis; Readiness (Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Improvement, Spares forecasting, Fleet Readiness Modeling); Obsolescence forecasting; Level of Repair Analysis (LORA); and spares modeling.
Candidate will interface with other functional departments, including Air Vehicle, Avionics, Systems Engineering, R&M, Diminishing Material Shortages (DMS) team, Support Hardware, Global Supply Chain and supplier design engineers, as well as interfacing with the US Navy customer to understand requirements, collect data and strategize/provide solutions.
Candidate should possess skills in the areas of statistics, simulation modeling, trend & sensitivity analysis, data sampling, and computing. Obsolescence Analysis will include participation in development of processes and tools required to ensure DMS solutions are proactive and cost effective. Candidate must have an understanding of Logistics/Product Support Concepts and strategies including R&M. Prior Military experience is a plus. Travel to support customer / supplier interface may be required.
The Candidate must possess strong communication and writing skills, as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks. Proficiency with Microsoft Tools is essential. Interim secret clearance is also required.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelors degree in a STEM field and at least 8 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field and at least 6 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and at least 4 years of relevant military / professional experience
Must have an understanding of basic reliability/maintainability data and statistical analysis.
Understanding in LORA and spares modeling
Familiarity with other Product Support disciplines
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Sustainment Modeling, Aircraft Obsolescence, BCA, LORA and O&S Cost estimating
Systems performance monitoring and analysis
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, including project/analysis lead experience
Current Active U.S. government secret clearance.
