Northrop Grumman Aeronautics System Sector is seeking a Manager Industrial Engineering 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse, individuals within our Industrial Engineering Organization. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA for the Strike Program.
The Sr. Manager of Industrial Engineering 3 will have the responsibility of working side by side with Operations Directors/VPs by developing tools and give valuable insight to help achieve all business targets and lead a team of ~30 plus industrial engineers. This high visibility position has reach across from production and the program aspects which will include the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating long range planning & strategies for the operations team (eg: staffing, forecasting, execution strategy of new initiatives, pull ahead strategies, line balancing assessments, EAC / Budget forecasting)
- Oversight of projects and tasks assigned to ensure quality, schedule and cost are achieved on the Strike program
- Oversight of the team accountable for integration and utilization of common facilities, capacity analysis, integration of resources and implementation of improvement initiatives
- Providing direct supervision and management of employees from technical, manufacturing, and administrative areas to ensure business targets are met
- Working in concert with other functional homerooms and shared service organizations to coordinate, direct, and support the continuous improvement of people, products, processes, systems, and services
- Partnering with program leadership to develop executive planning and strategic vision that help achieve program, goals & objectives
- Have and understanding of MPS to conduct various schedule scenarios.

Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree AND 7+ years of engineering experience in an aerospace high production environment or related field OR a master’s degree AND 5+ years of engineering experience in an aerospace high production environment or related field.
- Must have 3+ years of management experience.
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to obtain Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- Experience with Project Management and the execution of large scale, integrated projects across multiple functions and organizations
- Experience leading recovery plan/program re-scheduling
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a Master Production Scheduler, accountable for developing Shop Operating Plans (SOPs)
- Demonstrated work experience leading and building diverse teams in fast-paced, quality-centric environments
- Experience with multiple program environments utilizing common infrastructure and facilities
- Experience and expertise with MES/SAP environments within aerospace for both fabrication and final assembly
- A minimum of 9 years of leadership experience; at least 4-year experience in Industrial Engineering
- Bachelor of Science Degree with 6 years of experience in aerospace environments
- Experience working on a DoD/PAR Manufacturing program
- Fab and assembly experience
Primary Level Salary Range: $159,500.00 - $239,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
