Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Quality Manager 2 to lead the QC inspection team in Sunnyvale, CA.
What you'll get to do:
Provides overall management of Quality Control (QC) inspection teams by setting and operating to objectives, and providing guidance to direct reports based on goals, objectives, and company policy.
Collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Global Supply Chain to ensure quality is inherent in every requirement, design, work product, and end-product delivered by Northrop Grumman
Engages on the shop floor and in work activities to provide direct support as needed while additionally coaching and mentoring personnel in quality methods and procedures.
Leverages metrics, as well as customer and employee feedback to assess quality performance and risks and drive continuous improvements.
Interfaces with customer representatives, including on-site DCMA representatives, concerning projects, operational decisions, and scheduling customer inspection activities.
Maintains compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) policies, procedures, and processes to ensure the performance and quality of products conform to established standards, specifications and customer requirements.
Provide performance reviews and periodic feedback for all direct reports.
The manager should be knowledgeable in aerospace and/or military inspection requirements and will report directly to the site Product Assurance Manager. In this role, the Quality Manager collaborates with manufacturing and engineering functions to ensure quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will have extensive prior. The candidate will be required to have strong collaboration skills and demonstrated capability to partner cross-discipline/cross-function. As a key leader, partner, and essential member of the Sunnyvale site leadership team, the Quality Manager 2 will lead a high performing QC inspection team to support company operations.
Basic Qualifications for the Manager Quality 2:
Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of experience in Quality control, Inspection, Quality Assurance, Product Assurance, Mission Assurance, or Manufacturing; Master's Degree with 6 years of experience; Associate Degree with 10 years of experience; OR 12 years of experience in lieu of degree.
Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience (Integrated Product Teams leadership or direct-line management).
QMS (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc) experience.
Experience with manufacturing, maintenance, or inspection assurance activities.
Experience providing solutions, coaching, and mentoring others in the use of quality principles and practices.
Experience leading continuous improvement activities.
Experience articulating concepts and concerns to technical and non-technical professionals.
U.S. Citizenship Required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leading a large and diverse group, establish clear expectations and inspire commitment, building teams, value diversity and put people first.
Experience furthering continuous yet controlled improvements in organizations and processes and strengthening of workforce skills through application of lean thinking principles and tools.
Experience formulating, documenting, planning, executing, and managing complex project plans and initiatives.
Prior experience with inspections and tests.
Prior experience working with union employees.
Experience working with Government agencies.
Familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management System certification process.
Auditing experience (quality control processes preferable)
Experiencing managing teams performing GD&T.
Active Secret Clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $133,100.00 - $199,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
