PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Analyze and evaluate the production load and schedules and coordinate the planning, scheduling and control of the manufacturing activities for an assigned area or product to maintain production schedules at the lowest possible cost, and meet delivery requirements.
WORKING PROCEDURE:
THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL MAJOR JOB DUTIES BUT THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT, NOR THE QUESTION BEING RAISED ON THE PROPER RATE FOR THE ASSIGNMENT.
Perform the duties of Production Coordinator "B" and in addition perform the following:
1. Analyze production schedules and material status documents to determine areas of conflict and take appropriate action to meet schedules.
2. Evaluate load and schedules and recommend alternative methods or subcontracting to meet production schedules and advise supervisor of such.
3. Determine present and future load capacities of manufacturing areas which may affect the use of predetermined lead times for scheduling department to quote on jobs.
4. Maintain overall familiarity with assigned area or product responsibility and plan and coordinate the efforts of the lower level production personnel in the performance of assigned duties.
5. Determine the scope and impact of an assigned job and pre-plan requirements and material to accomplish on-time delivery. Make recommendations to change or improve task.
6. Operate stacker, standup forklift, and hand truck handling equipment to move and stage material between operations.
7. Perform work of equal or lower level as required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High School graduate plus college courses in production control, production scheduling and manufacturing procedures or its equivalent experience.
2 years of Production Control experience in a large/heavy manufacturing environment or related NG experience in departments such as Quality Control Engineering, Shipping and Receiving to gain familiarity and understanding of the Division's procedures, policies, facilities and capabilities.
Must know manufacturing methods, processes and machine tools.
US Citizenship required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
College courses in business.
Shipping experience.
Pulling parts and issuing work orders.
SAP experience.
