Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Casual Technical Professional Master Technician – Level 4 to join our team in Vandenberg, CA.
This position is a Casual/On-Call employee working on an hourly basis. The salary range is based on a full-time schedule and will be prorated to the extent the schedule is reduced.
This position is fully on-site. Relocation assistance is not available.
With minimum supervision, the Master Technician will be responsible for the acceptance and qualification testing of a variety of flight hardware components and systems in multiple product lines. This is a highly skilled, non exempt role and can require a security clearance (depending on program assignment), works on hardware for multiple programs and must be able to perform more than one of the following duties: mechanical technician, engineering technician, electronic technician, flight test technician and/or general technician duties.
Responsibilities include:
Performing Continuity and Isolation testing, Monitor testing and Functional testing (both manually and with ATE) on CCA and box level hardware, some of which will occur in environments including thermal cycling, vacuum and vibration.
Knowledge of and the ability to use a variety of test and measurement instrumentation such as multimeters, power supplies, function generators, oscilloscopes and data acquisition systems is required, as is the ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics and bills of material.
Sets up and tests complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions.
Analyzes data and recommends modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications.
Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent plus formal electronics training through technical trade school or military technical school and 6 years of relevant experience
Skilled in one or more of the following: mechanical technician, engineering technician, electronic technician, flight test technician and/or general technician duties.
Ability to analyze data and recommend modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications.
Confident using a variety of test and measurement instrumentation such as multimeters, power supplies, function generators and oscilloscopes
Capable in reading and following schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans
Familiarity with analog, digital and/or logic systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Active or ability to obtain U.S Government Security Clearance
Aerospace and Defense experience
ATP / environmental testing and experience using Automated Testing Equipment
