Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Mission Assurance Engineer (Design Assurance). This position is located in Roy, UT.
What You'll Get To Do:
The selected candidate will work within the Design Assurance team as a Hardware Quality subject matter expert and stakeholder. You will be responsible for checking design packages for proper content and to ensure compliance to applicable company, customer, and industry modeling standards. Other typical duties include:
Analyzing and validating electromechanical hardware models, systems, and other related documents (e.g., GD&T, materials, form/fit/function, manufacturability, feasibility, and economy of fabrication).
Supporting systems engineering architectural activities and maintaining descriptive system models, interfaces, physical/functional block diagrams, and coordinating with integrated product teams for establishing content within the system architecture.
Recommending changes/revisions to product definition packages necessary for approval and buy-off during multiphase review meetings as a Mission Assurance / Design Assurance representative.
Maintaining a Quality Management System ensuring that products and services conform to company standards of excellence (e.g., AS9100, Statement of Work).
Reviewing practices, procedures, and processes aiming to standardize and continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness to reduce risk to product quality.
Participating in engineering boards as a Mission Assurance / Design Assurance representative.
Preparing / presenting reports, briefings, and metrics of internal and program-wide insights / recommendations to internal / external customers.
Reviewing subcontractor design work and providing recommendations for approval.
Performing other Mission Assurance related tasks and objectives (e.g., program improvement efforts, collaborations, planning).

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
2+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree OR 0+ years of relevant experience with a Master of Science (MS) degree.
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher adjudicated within the last 5 years with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
Experience with 3D design modeling OR reviewing/approving design packages.
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles, concepts, and tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
STEM degree
Experience with Siemens CPLM and NX or similar.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
Knowledge of Digital Product Definition Practices per ASME Y14.41.
Knowledge of conventional manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC Mills, Lathes, Welds).
Experience with abiding and enforcing a multiphase design/approval process.
Experience with abiding and enforcing a Quality Management System.
Experience working in an AS9100 or ISO9001 certified workplace.
Experience with Agile software development methodologies (e.g., Jira, Confluence, SCRUM).
