This position will be located in Manhattan Beach, CA and will support the Sentinel program.

What You’ll Get To Do:
As a Section Manager you will be expected to spend roughly 20% of your effort on Functional Homeroom (FHR) responsibilities and 80% of your efforts focused on technical program support under the Sentinel – Launch Systems team.
The selected candidate will be responsible for a Launch Systems Infrastructure - Structural Engineering discipline FHR Section and will report directly to an SDS Structural Department Manager. You will provide career mentorship and operational support to a Functional Home Room (FHR) team (Section) of between 10 and 15 Individual Contributors (ICs) based on Engineering goals, objectives, and company policy. Key FHR responsibilities include recruiting, staffing, retaining talent, performance management, process familiarization and training for Section members. It is expected that the Functional management role will comprise up to 20% of the candidate's time.
The candidate will have 80% technical responsibilities: supporting SDS programs as an engineer within their same function. Candidate will act across multiple organizations to drive execution. Best technical fit will be assessed as part of the interview process.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 8 years of experience; or Master's degree with 6 years of experience.
Experience in a technical leadership/management role.
Experience in writing and presenting technical content.
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
In depth familiarity with Ansys, Abaqus, FEMAP, Nastran, LS-DYNA, MathCad, Matlab.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Master’s degree (MS) in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or Professional Engineer’s License.
Master’s degree in Business.
Strong experience leading teams and training others.
Experience with individual contributor performance assessments.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
Operates independently with limited to no supervision, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.
Able to assimilate information from multiple sources, create coherent plans and then execute those plans.
Exposure to structural test applications.
Experience with seismic analysis (ASCE 7).
Exposure to missiles program requirements & with propulsion.
TeamCenter CPLM experience.
Demonstrated experience working with customers to ensure project success.
Experience in performing in an Agile environment and knowledge/understanding of JIRA.
