Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Electronics Engineer (Supplier Management Team Lead) to join the team of qualified individuals on our Triton MFAS radar subsystem team. This role is located onsite in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, engaged in significantly diverse assignments, within a collaborative/team setting across all levels of the organization. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. Once established in role, this position could offer a hybrid work environment. Scheduled telework days are approved at manager's discretion .This position requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinating the efforts of the SMT, including engineers, the Global Supply Chain subcontracts administrator, supplier quality assurance representatives, cost account manager, and schedulers
- Managing the execution of all NGMS Intra Work Order (IWO) performance, including planning, proposals, new capability development, production, testing, deliveries, sustainment, and repairs
- Establish and track metrics to drive and ensure high-quality SMT execution
- Manage and communicate execution risks by monitoring technical performance against metrics and addressing resource gaps
- Conducting or coordinating review of NGMS partner documentation and deliverables (SDRLs)
- Reporting IWO status to Program Managers, GSC managers, IPT Management, and Control Account Managers
- Develop tasking statements and Statements of Work (SSOW) through collaboration with key technical and programmatic stakeholders
Basic Qualifications for Principal Electronics Engineer (Supplier Management Team (SMT) Lead):
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 1 year of related engineering experience
- Must have familiarity with product lifecycles and government acquisition process related to development, LRIP/production, sustainment activities
- Must have Project Management principles experience
- Must have Control Account Management experience
- Must have the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, IWO partners, and customers
- At minimum, an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance Secret level clearance is required to apply and to start the role, with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance and maintain Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Company to meet its business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a STEM discipline, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field
- Experience managing suppliers as part of a government/DOD contract
- Experience planning, scheduling, and managing projects with many different stakeholders
- Experience in supplier statement of work generation
- Experience with T&M, CPIF, CPFF, and FFP contract types
- Experience with contract negotiations
- Program Management experience / completion of Project Management Professional course
- Experience with repair management, DMSMS evaluations, MRP requirements
- General technical exposure to payload subsystems, platform integration and test
- Skilled use of Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project)
Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
