We are seeking an experienced Security Lead to join a critical Defence program based in Exmouth. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in supporting national security outcomes, while leading and shaping site-wide security operations.
In this role, you will act as the central security authority on-site, owning security operations, influencing best practice, and contributing to the maturity of the overall security function.

About the role
As Security Lead, you will manage the day-to-day security operations of the site while ensuring compliance with Defence and organisational security frameworks.
You will also play a key role in building security awareness, strengthening processes, and supporting program success through proactive risk management and governance.
Key responsibilities
Lead and implement protective security practices in line with DSPF, PSPF, and ISM requirements.
Manage and administer site security systems, user access, and reporting processes
Oversee visitor management, contractor access, and site compliance activities
Maintain and improve security registers, audit processes, and documentation
Deliver security briefings, education sessions, and awareness programs
Manage security clearances and liaise with AGSVA on personnel security matters
Provide expert security advice to stakeholders and contribute to policy and process improvements
Support audits, reviews, and ongoing security program development
What you bring
You are a proactive and detail-oriented security professional who thrives in complex, high-security environments and enjoys taking ownership of outcomes.
Ability to obtain and maintain an NV2 (Top Secret) AGSVA clearance
Experience working within Defence or government security frameworks
Strong understanding of protective security principles and compliance requirements
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
