GES Technology India team is an integral part of the global team, which is spread across US, UK, HK, Japan and India, owns and delivers multiple product stacks.

GES India works in partnership with the regions to deliver technology solutions for our clients and for Nomura global execution business.

Role Overview:

The candidate will work on Nomura Instinet’s proprietary sales and trading platform products, that address our client’s diverse range of trading needs and goals. The platform trades a significant portion of client order flow per day globally and represents a business-critical system for the firm.  We provide our users typically traders an integrated global markets experience supporting multiple asset classes across regions.

 

The team works closely with algo strategy teams, and integrates with multiple UX interfaces, providing users with a well-integrated trading experience.  The role requires a strong technologist with deep experience in mission critical and highly evolving systems. This is a hands-on individual contributor role along with opportunities to manage multiple module deliveries independently and level up the product overall.

The candidate will engage with global / regional stakeholders and deliver on multi-month product delivery milestones. The candidate also engage business analysts, delivery leads, and business users and ensuring, incremental product deliveries and met, using agile methodologies.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

• Deliver new features, enhancements and bug fixes to our trading platform that has low latency and high throughout processing mandates.
• Participate in the full project life cycle including technical analysis, design, data analysis and mapping, development and testing
• Understand the existing business functions and participate in defining new solutions that meet business objectives.
• Liaise with the business and development teams with regards to priorities and progress of various tasks and projects.
• Ensure adherence to functional architecture strategy and compliance to company development standards.

• If necessary, help manage projects for the implementation of new systems or system upgrades.
• Willing to work and contribute across entire SDLC – including dev, testing and support. Collaborate with various development, QA and support teams across different regions
• L2 & L3 support – quick support resolution of production and user issues, application testing and maintenance releases. Interface with other support teams, global internal and external clients related to support, use and output of the products. As part of global team, act as key contact point for queries of both technical and functional nature.
• Contribute towards establishing software delivery best practices. Collaborate on architecture, design decisions, and code reviews
• Willing to own deliveries and work hands-on across all aspects of software delivery including development, testing, documentation and support.
• Mentor/guide other junior team members as necessary.

 

 

Mandatory Skill Set :

• Investment Banking domain – good understanding of capital markets

• Strong understanding of multi-threading - concurrency and synchronization and its application.

• Strong self-management skills with ability to prioritize and execute
• Ability to exhibit high level of professionalism in team-oriented environment, able to work with global teams across geographies

 

Desired Skill Set :

• Knowledge of execution services (sales and trading / client connectivity / algo / market connectivity).
• FNO domain knowledge
• Prior experience in development of trading systems in equity markets.
• Skilled in AI tools like Claude / CoPilot et al, to help leapfrog on time to market of product features and improve productivity.
