Senior Manager, Project Services
Onsite – Mexico City, MX
Nextpower is looking for a Senior Manager, Project Services to lead Project Services in the LATAM Region.
This role is responsible for leading and coordinating the Project Management Team in Mexico to ensure efficient execution of projects within established schedules, budgets, quality standards, and customer expectations. The Senior Manager will translate regional and functional objectives into operational plans, determine resources needed to meet project goals, and guide execution across the team.
In addition, this role directly manages strategic projects and Tier 1 customers, serving as the primary point of contact for critical issues, executive decision-making, and customer relationship management. The position partners closely with the Commercial Team by providing technical and operational support for strategic customers, new business opportunities, and contract expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Management
Lead and coordinate the Project Management Team, providing guidance, direction, and support within established company policies and department practices.
Drive the structured growth of the department through contract management, capacity planning, resource allocation, budget planning, expenditure approval, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Translate functional plans and regional objectives into operational processes, team priorities, and execution plans.
Organize the department structure and monitor project progress, resource allocation, financial performance, and business impacts.
Manage operational initiatives to improve department performance, optimize costs, and implement corrective action plans.
Recommend changes to processes, tools, and procedures that improve project execution, reporting, risk management, and customer satisfaction.
Conduct performance evaluations, support professional development, and promote team growth.
Support the Commercial Team with strategic customers and new business opportunities.
Strengthen relationships with key customers and support contract expansion.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Project Services
Lead project execution, ensuring schedule, budget, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction objectives are achieved.
Directly manage strategic projects, Tier 1 customers, and escalations requiring senior-level oversight.
Establish and monitor KPIs to evaluate project health, team performance, financial impact, and operational effectiveness.
Lead weekly project review meetings to assess progress, risks, resource needs, financial impacts, and corrective actions.
Communicate project objectives, priorities, risks, and recommendations to internal stakeholders, customers, and external partners.
Support execution planning, resource estimates, schedules, and operational feasibility.
Evaluate project issues of diverse scope, using judgment and available data to determine appropriate solutions.
Partner with cross-functional teams, including Commercial, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Legal, customers, and suppliers, to support project execution and business objectives.
Processes
Develop project monitoring, reporting, and risk mitigation tools.
Drive continuous process improvement across project execution, documentation, communication, and operational workflows.
Ensure compliance with company policies, management systems, safety requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Maintain organization of equipment, workplace, and project documentation.
Support consistent use of project management processes, operational policies, and department procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
8+ years of experience managing industrial, energy, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects.
Experience leading project teams, supervising professionals, or managing work through others.
Strong understanding of project management concepts, applications, resource planning, risk management, and operational execution.
Ability to evaluate project and operational issues involving multiple factors and determine practical solutions within established policies and objectives.
Familiarity with environmental, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Strong attention to detail, ownership mindset, communication skills, and ability to work effectively with global cross-functional teams, customers, and external suppliers.
Fluent English and Spanish, spoken and written, required for collaboration with U.S. and LATAM-based teams.
