Job Description
Be a part of the NEXTracker mechanical testing team in Hyderabad, India contributing to the sustaining of solar trackers and related components. As a part of this team, you will be closely collaborating with various cross functional teams on the assigned tasks including your counterparts in the USA to ensure timely and successful completion of product qualification.

A typical day would be:
Constructing prototypes and custom fixtures for mechanical tests, choosing appropriate materials for fabricating test fixtures as per requirements.
Generating tool path for CNC machines using CAM software or G-Codes/M-Codes.
Operating machining tools to shape and refine test specimens and fixtures.
Using welding machines for assembling testing parts and fixtures, assembling and integrating mechanical components and systems for testing requirements.
Ensuring the precision and quality of fabricated components, conducting routine maintenance on fabrication tools and equipment.
Working closely with engineers, designers, and test technicians to understand project requirements. Recording detailed information about the fabrication process and materials used.
Addressing issues that may arise during fabrication and finding practical solutions.
Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines during the fabrication process.
Preventive and breakdown maintenance of machines
Maintaining required tooling and keeping stock
Participating in daily update meetings and recording daily updates
Minimum Qualifications:
Diploma in mechanical engineering / ITI machinist or certification or equivalent.
Must have hands-on experience in a fabrication role.
Proficiency in using machining tools (CNC milling and lathe machines, Conventional machines like lathe, surface grinder, drilling, etc), welding equipment (MIG, ARC, Spot) and other fabrication techniques.
Proficiency in generating tool path using CAM software (Delcam, Mastercam, etc) and creating machining programs using G-Codes/M-Codes
Understanding of materials and their properties, enabling appropriate selection for test components.
Strong emphasis on safety protocols and practices within a laboratory or fabrication environment
Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and other team members.
Effective communication skills to convey ideas and understand project requirements.
Ability to manufacture fixtures for testing using the machine shop.
