Job Description:
The Project Manager will be based in Nextpower's Fremont, CA office and is responsible for managing assigned projects from purchase order execution through commissioning. This role is a fully qualified, experienced project management professional with complete knowledge of project execution principles, customer delivery, logistics coordination, financial management, and field operations within renewable energy, construction, or related industries.
The successful candidate independently manages projects of diverse scope, evaluates complex project information, assesses risks, identifies root causes, and develops practical solutions using sound judgment and established project management practices. Working with limited direction, this individual partners with customers, contractors, and cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and with a best-in-class customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for your own safety, with shared responsibility for the safety of all Nextpower staff, contractors, and visitors at assigned project sites.
- Read, understand, and comply with Nextpower company policies and procedures.
- Independently manage assigned projects from purchase order execution through commissioning, assuming ownership of project scope, schedule, financial performance, customer satisfaction, and successful project delivery.
- Evaluate project issues of diverse scope by analyzing multiple factors, identifying root causes, exercising sound judgment, and selecting the most appropriate course of action.
- Resolve complex project, customer, logistics, and field-related issues by applying project management expertise, evaluating available information, adapting established approaches, and recommending practical solutions.
- Adapt existing approaches and recommend practical solutions when project conditions, customer needs, or site requirements change.
- Provide technical support for customers while developing strong product and systems expertise.
- Develop and maintain a strong technical understanding of Nextpower PV solar tracking systems and associated project tools.
- Coordinate with customers and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
- Manage project P&L including forecasting, invoicing, cash flow, and cost management.
- Coordinate product delivery with Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, and field teams.
- Establish, monitor, and report KPIs supporting customer satisfaction and project execution.
- Build trusted relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders, influencing alignment and adapting communication style for diverse audiences.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to internal teams and customers on complex project execution, project risks, logistics, scheduling, and field operations.
- Participate on cross-functional product and project teams providing recommendations based on technical and field expertise.
- Identify opportunities to improve project execution processes, share best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as the internal customer advocate.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of related project management experience
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects of diverse scope while balancing competing priorities.
- Experience in renewable energy, construction, mining, oil & gas, infrastructure, or related industries.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate incomplete or evolving information, identify root causes, exercise sound judgment, and develop practical solutions.
- Excellent customer relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience partnering with Supply Chain, Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Field Operations.
- Strong financial acumen including project budgets, forecasting, and cost management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to technical and executive audiences.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders without direct authority.
- Leadership mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and renewable energy.
- Knowledge of PV technology and tracking systems preferred.

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The annual salary range for this position is $120,000.00-$135,000.00. (Applicable to California)
