Purpose of the Job
Manage liquidity risk and optimize profitability through cash and interest rate product dealing, contributing both locally and regionally
Engage closely with global treasury offices and colleagues throughout the region to support business promotion, disseminate best practices, and deliver integrated services for customers
What you'll do:
Assist the line manager in formulating departmental strategies that are congruent with branch objectives and facilitate seamless change processes
Help manage day to day liquidity needs across all currencies, including maintenance of cash flow ladders and nostro management and cash flow forecasting needs.
Price both loans and deposits appropriately within the banks FTP frameworks and governance policies.
Evaluate issues from a collective perspective and present considered solutions to the line manager
Optimize revenue by managing balance sheet operations within the appropriate designated IRRBB framework and other prescribed limits whilst ensuring adherence to relevant regulations
Appropriately manage customer loan and deposit flows by addressing associated market risks and complying with regulatory requirements
Anticipate evolving customer expectations, propose measures to maintain the bank’s competitive edge, and cultivate robust stakeholder relationships internally and externally
Collaborate with colleagues across the region to provide pricing and liquidity insights, educate on global market products, share best practices, and deliver integrated services for customers
Partner with product offices from various entities to leverage their expertise, support future business opportunities, and sustain valuable relationships
Offer guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members, fostering their development within the department
Interpret regulatory requirements, audit findings, and assess branch action plans to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
Monitor market risks by gathering information from diverse sources, reporting findings promptly to relevant parties, and supporting departmental initiatives aimed at enhancing revenue opportunities
What you bring:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline is requisite for this position
At least 5 years’ relevant experience in Funding, Treasury or Money Market functions within the banking industry is essential
Experience in liquidity management, funding operations, interbank placements, money market transactions or treasury activities will be regarded as advantageous
A comprehensive understanding of banking regulations, market practices and treasury products is indispensable for success in this role
Exceptional analytical skills are required to evaluate complex financial scenarios effectively
Demonstrated stakeholder management skills are essential for cultivating enduring relationships internally and externally
A good working knowledge of tools such as VBA, Python and tableau would be advantageous as well as familiarity with Bloomberg and Reuters systems.
