Position details
We are seeking an experienced Senior Dynatrace Observability Engineer / Administrator to lead the implementation, administration, and continuous enhancement of the Dynatrace SaaS observability platform. The successful candidate will possess strong expertise in end-to-end monitoring, event management, ServiceNow integration, dashboard engineering, and automation.
This role will work closely with Infrastructure, Application, Network, Security, Cloud, and Service Management teams to deliver a unified observability framework, improve operational visibility, accelerate incident resolution, and drive proactive monitoring across enterprise services.
Key Responsibilities
Dynatrace Platform Administration & Architecture
Administer and manage the Dynatrace SaaS platform, including OneAgent, ActiveGate, extensions, integrations, and tenant configurations.
Design and maintain scalable observability architecture supporting infrastructure, applications, databases, middleware, network, and cloud environments.
Configure monitoring policies, management zones, tagging strategies, alerting profiles, and role-based access controls.
Lead platform upgrades, configuration optimization, and adoption of new Dynatrace capabilities.
Monitoring & Observability Engineering
Develop and implement enterprise-wide observability solutions covering metrics, logs, traces, synthetic monitoring, and real-user monitoring (RUM).
Configure infrastructure, application, database, middleware, network, and Kubernetes monitoring.
Create custom monitoring extensions and automation workflows using Dynatrace APIs.
Develop AI-driven monitoring use cases utilizing Dynatrace Davis AI for anomaly detection and root cause analysis.
ServiceNow Integration & Event Management
Design, implement, and support integration between Dynatrace and ServiceNow ITSM/Event Management platforms.
Configure automated incident creation, event correlation, deduplication, and alert enrichment.
Implement bidirectional synchronization between Dynatrace events and ServiceNow incidents.
Integrate monitoring events with CMDB, Service Mapping, and Event Management workflows.
Develop event handling standards, escalation workflows, suppression policies, and alert tuning strategies to reduce noise and improve operational efficiency.
Dashboard & Reporting Engineering
Design and develop executive, operational, and technical dashboards using Dynatrace Dashboards
Create business service health dashboards, application performance dashboards, SLA reporting dashboards, and infrastructure monitoring views.
Develop advanced visualizations for:
Service availability
Application performance trends
Capacity analytics
Event correlation
Incident management KPIs
Observability maturity reporting
Provide meaningful insights and recommendations through data visualization and reporting.
Automation & Integration
Develop automation scripts using Python, Shell, Perl, or PowerShell.
Automate monitoring onboarding, dashboard creation, alert configuration, and reporting activities.
Integrate Dynatrace with enterprise platforms including ServiceNow, Splunk, CyberArk, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud services.
Utilize REST APIs and Infrastructure as Code practices for monitoring automation.
Operational Support & Governance
Monitor platform performance, capacity, availability, and data ingestion health.
Troubleshoot monitoring gaps, agent issues, integration failures, and dashboard performance concerns.
Define monitoring standards, governance policies, and operational best practices.
Create and maintain architecture documentation, SOPs, technical runbooks, and knowledge articles.
Support audit and compliance requirements by maintaining monitoring evidence and reporting controls.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Overall 8+ years of IT experience.
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in Dynatrace administration and observability engineering.
Minimum 3+ years of experience integrating monitoring platforms with ServiceNow ITSM/Event Management.
Experience supporting enterprise-scale monitoring environments across infrastructure and application landscapes.
Experience in SaaS-based observability platforms and cloud monitoring solutions.
Strong experience working with Linux/RHEL environments.
Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting skills, analytical approach, and expertise in root-cause analysis within complex distributed environments.
Experience operating within regulated industries, preferably banking or financial services.
Preferred Qualifications
Dynatrace Associate, Professional, or Certified Administrator certification.
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
Experience with Observability, AIOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
Knowledge of AWS, Azure, and Hybrid Cloud monitoring.
Experience working within regulated financial services environments.
