As an Electrical Failure Analysis (EFA) Technician within the Non-Volatile Memory Quality & Reliability Assurance (NVMQRA) organization at Micron Technology, Inc., you will support electrical characterization, failure analysis, reliability testing, and laboratory operations for NAND Flash memory and Solid-State Drive (SSD) products.
You will work closely with engineers to perform failure screening, electrical testing, data collection, and debug activities supporting product qualification, reliability assessments, manufacturing excursions, and customer-return investigations. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical capability, and a willingness to learn semiconductor products, storage technologies, and failure analysis methodologies.
Support Electrical Failure Analysis Activities
Implement electrical characterization and screening activities on NAND Flash and SSD products.
Perform sample preparation, device handling, and test setup following established procedures.
Run engineering and reliability test programs on characterization and test platforms.
Collect, document, and organize test results for engineering review.
Perform visual inspection of devices, components, and hardware to identify abnormalities.
Assist engineers in reproducing failure conditions and gathering debug data.
Maintain accurate records of failure symptoms, test conditions, and characterization results.
Support Reliability and Qualification Testing
Prepare samples for reliability evaluation and qualification testing.
Monitor reliability testing activities and report issues promptly.
Perform data collection and preliminary result verification.
Support qualification, engineering, and manufacturing investigations.
Assist with customer-return (RMA) sample handling and tracking.
Support Lab Equipment and Operations
Set up, operate, and maintain electrical characterization and debug equipment.
Perform routine equipment verification, calibration checks, and preventive maintenance.
Fix basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
Raise equipment problems to engineers or vendors as needed.
Support installation and qualification of new laboratory equipment.
Maintain laboratory safety, cleanliness, and organization.
Support Data Management and Reporting
Enter characterization and failure analysis results into databases and tracking systems.
Generate test logs, reports, and data summaries.
Verify data accuracy and report discrepancies.
Assist with data trending and analysis activities.
Maintain proper documentation according to quality and reliability procedures.
Support Continuous Improvement and Automation
Find opportunities to improve laboratory efficiency and workflow effectiveness.
Support implementation of automation, scripting, and digital solutions for laboratory operations.
Apply approved AI-enabled productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent tools) to improve documentation, data organization, and reporting efficiency while following Micron data governance requirements.
Participate in team improvement projects and operational excellence initiatives.
Training and Team Support
Learn NAND Flash memory, SSD products, and storage technology fundamentals.
Participate in on-the-job training (OJT) programs.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and safety guidelines.
Support multi-functional engineering teams during debug and investigation activities.
Share technical observations and communicate issues clearly with engineers and team members.
Diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Semiconductor Technology, or related technical subject areas.

Exposure through internships, laboratory work, academic projects, technical training, or industry experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
Failure Analysis (FA) laboratory operations
Electronics testing and troubleshooting
Semiconductor manufacturing or testing
NAND Flash memory technologies
Solid-State Drive (SSD) products
Reliability or qualification testing
Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
Electronics laboratory instrumentation
Data collection, reporting, and analysis
Basic knowledge of electronics, semiconductor manufacturing, NAND Flash memory, and SSD technologies.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow technical procedures and safety requirements.
Basic troubleshooting, problem-solving, and data analysis skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to learn new equipment, software, and technologies quickly.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to utilize digital tools, automation, and AI-enabled solutions to improve productivity, collaboration, and responsiveness.
