Role Overview
As a Contamination Control Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring a stable, high-quality cleanroom environment by managing particle and molecular contamination (AMC), supporting process stability, and driving continuous improvement across facility, equipment, and process interfaces. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration and ownership of contamination control performance.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
• Collaborate closely with contamination control, facilities, equipment, and process teams to deliver a stable, high-quality cleanroom environment.
• Start up, maintain, and continuously improve cleanroom cleanliness and airborne molecular contamination (AMC) control.
• Conduct AMC sampling, particle monitoring, and contamination analysis, including sample preparation and scheduling.
• Develop and apply contamination control knowledge to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
• Lead contamination-related excursion investigation and drive OCAP (Out of Control Action Plan).
• Manage contamination monitoring systems and sensors, including calibration, maintenance, performance verification, and spare parts management.
• Manage Statistical Process Control (SPC) performance to ensure quality standards are met.
• Analyze data, monitor trends, and identify risks to drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain cleanroom stability, product quality, and operational reliability by applying proactive measures.
• Coordinate special requirements for contamination control and lead preventive actions through defense line establishment.
• Respond effectively to safety, EHS, and audit requirements to uphold strict compliance standards.
• Ensure cleanroom 6S, SOP execution, and data integrity.
• Prioritize activities and commission improvements to achieve quality and stability goals.
Education
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
Chemical Engineering / Chemistry / Materials Science / Environmental Engineering / related science or engineering fields
Technical Skills
• Basic knowledge of chemistry or analytical methods
• Interest in semiconductor manufacturing and contamination control
• Familiarity with laboratory instruments (e.g., IC, GC/MS, AMC-related tools) is a plus
• Basic ability to process and analyze data using Excel or similar tools
Personal Attributes
• Willing to work in cleanroom and laboratory environments
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Careful, responsible, and able to follow SOPs
• Able to coordinate tasks and support analysis scheduling
Preferred Strength
• Ability to independently handle contamination-related risk assessment
• Strong ownership of SPC performance and excursion management
• Capability to drive cross-functional alignment and improvement initiatives
