The Services team and solutions fuel growth for partners globally by providing cutting-edge capabilities in Customer Acquisition and Engagement, Security Solutions, Business and Market Insights, and Open Banking. Mastercard Identity, within the Security Solutions organization, leads the development of products and services that enable global commerce, advance financial inclusion, prevent fraud, and power seamless digital experiences. As part of Mastercard Identity, the Business Identity team is responsible for building and managing products, programs, and services focused on risk assessment and business entity verification. The team delivers critical value across the ecosystem, helping to combat emerging fraud threats and ensure trusted, secure commerce across the network.
The Manager, Product Management – Technical, plays a key role in delivering scalable, interoperable solutions that enable businesses to be securely identified and trusted across digital ecosystems. This role is responsible for translating product strategy into well-defined technical requirements and driving execution across cross-functional teams including engineering, data science, commercialization, and legal. The Manager, Product Management – Technical partners closely with internal stakeholders and external customers to refine requirements, prioritize the product backlog, and deliver high-quality Business Identity capabilities that enhance onboarding, reduce fraud, and support regulatory compliance. With a strong focus on execution, technical rigor, and customer impact, the Manager ensures timely delivery of features and continuous improvement of product capabilities aligned with Mastercard’s broader vision for digital trust infrastructure.
Role
The Manager, Product Manager - Technical will provide detailed technical analysis of product or application hardware and software to ensure that business and functional requirements can be met.
• Translate product roadmap from high-level strategy into detailed technical requirements, planning, and prioritization.
• Analyze system requirements and elaborate them into features, user stories, and clear acceptance criteria within an Agile framework.
• Quickly develop a strong understanding of complex platform systems and contribute effectively.
• Elicit and define customer needs and business requirements, bringing clarity, structured thinking, and measurable product KPIs and metrics.
• Design features through prototypes and experiments, decompose requirements into user stories, and prioritize the product backlog.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to assess feasibility, align dependencies, and drive delivery of high-quality solutions.
• Continuously monitor feature development at the feature and epic levels to ensure progress and alignment.
• Review product demos with development teams against defined acceptance criteria.
• Identify gaps in requirements and manage dependencies across teams.
• Understand and evaluate technical implications and impacts of product requirements.
• Lead joint application design sessions and technical story reviews.
• Collaborate with software engineers to ensure strong user story comprehension and execution.
• Partner with quality engineering teams to validate expected outcomes and product quality.
• Work closely with stakeholders and product partners to gather requirements and maintain a well-prioritized backlog.
• Regularly engage stakeholders to understand evolving needs and incorporate feedback into the backlog.
• Facilitate product demos, handoffs, and post-launch reviews with stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement by incorporating learnings from releases and feedback loops.
• Clearly document requirements using rules, workflows, diagrams, and state transition models.
• Ensure timely identification and remediation of vulnerabilities and technical risks.
• Support regulatory and compliance requirements, including audit evidence preparation and product risk assessments.
All About You/Experience
• Successfully launched complex projects as product owner, working closely with engineering teams from ideation to production.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially when leading technical discussions, trade-off decisions, and communicating and mitigating risks.
• Extensive experience as a product owner managing feature backlog and roadmap.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to simplify complex requirements with detailed and clear documentation, including functional and non-functional requirements and API specifications.
• Experience with agile development methodologies; SAFe Agile methodology is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and operates with a sense of urgency.
• Experience with estimating work deliverables and managing project status is a plus.
• Working knowledge of identity, digital payments, and the security landscape is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; advanced or master’s degree is an advantage.
• Flexible work hours to accommodate teams in different time zones across the globe.
• Ability to travel up to 15%.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in Canada, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive pay based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
