As Maintenance Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of Freo Group’s maintenance strategy, ensuring our maintenance function is safe, reliable, proactive and commercially effective.
You will work closely with Fleet, Procurement, Operations, Branch Managers, HSEQ, Finance and senior leaders to embed consistent maintenance planning, scheduling, execution and reporting practices across the business.
This role is ideal for a leader who understands heavy industry, values safety and accountability, and can influence meaningful change across people, systems and processes.
What you’ll bring to the team:
We are looking for a capable and credible maintenance leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational delivery.
You will bring:
Proven experience in maintenance management, planning, reliability or asset management within heavy industry.
Strong understanding of maintenance systems, planning discipline and reliability-focused work practices.
Experience leading maintenance teams and developing capability across supervisors, planners and technicians.
A strong safety mindset and commitment to quality, compliance and risk management.
High-level communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
Strong planning, organisational and prioritisation capability.
Confidence working with data, reporting, maintenance systems and performance metrics.
A results-driven mindset with the ability to improve processes, reduce downtime and support cost-effective delivery.
A relevant trade qualification and/or tertiary qualification in Business, Management, Leadership or a related field will be highly regarded.
Current driver’s licence.
What you’ll be doing:
Lead the development and implementation of a structured maintenance strategy aligned to safety, operational and business objectives.
Drive proactive maintenance practices across preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs.
Improve asset reliability, availability and performance across critical heavy industrial equipment.
Lead and mentor maintenance teams, including planners, supervisors and technicians.
Oversee maintenance execution, major inspections, contractor performance and maintenance standards.
Build strong relationships with operational leaders to ensure maintenance plans support business priorities.
Support maintenance budgeting, cost forecasting, backlog management and long-term capital replacement planning.
Use data, reporting and performance insights to support better decision-making and continuous improvement.
Foster a safety-first culture built on accountability, quality, teamwork and operational excellence.
