This position is accountable for the management of maintenance programs and serves as an advisor on the maintenance of equipment at our Repair facilities to maximize operational performance. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Plant Engineering & Asset Performance and travels 30% to (8) US and (3) Canadian repair shops, ensuring effective execution of all Maintenance work at each facility. This position is a senior maintenance position, with experience in both mechanical and electrical maintenance, and repairs and has experience in the development and ongoing oversight of quality maintenance and reliability programs.
The primary responsibility of this position is to direct the overall maintenance program to achieve repair shop production goals. In this regard, the incumbent is required to interface with the Maintenance Supervisors, Safety Manager, Plant Production Managers, and other plant leaders to ensure that maintenance work is being performed in accordance with productions plans and guidelines. Maintenance supervisors at the shop level report to the Plant Manager but have a dotted-line to this position.
Primary responsibilities and/or essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Constant review of the current Maintenance Program, including making needed changes due to aging of current equipment and changes in technological troubleshooting capabilities.
- Assist the site Maintenance Supervisors in an aligned program for spares between all facilities.
- Performs regular audits of the Maintenance programs at all facilities to ensure the above is performed.
- Provide expertise in the resolution of issues with problematic equipment.
- Develop and maintain job specific work instructions for the maintenance department.
- Development and execution of capital projects required for the ongoing support of plant equipment.
- Train and develop new Maintenance Supervisors.
- Provide insight and hands on support of emergency maintenance functions to maximize on stream time.
- Provide oversight and startup assistance in the commissioning of new equipment.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience (e.g., high school diploma or equivalent combined with applicable recruiting experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience with demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive results.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate expectations, provide direction, and present technical information in a manner easily understood by all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-gathering skills, with the ability to develop and implement creative solutions.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Smartsheet.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems and technologies.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% domestically, including up to 50% travel during the first year based on business needs.
- Valid ability to travel outside of the normal place of work via automobile, train, and commercial airline
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with robotics, automation systems, and electrical controls.
- Advanced experience in maintenance planning, asset reliability, and equipment installation within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of driving process improvements, enhancing equipment performance, and implementing best practices.
- Experience leading capital projects, equipment upgrades, or plant modernization initiatives.
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Hybrid work arrangement: minimum of 2 days per week in office and up to 3 days remote, based on business needs (subject to change)
- This position operates primarily in an industrial manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with production equipment and operating facilities.
- Must be willing and able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hard hats, hearing protection, and respirators.
- Must have the ability to see and hear plant safety signals, alarms, visual warnings, and radio communications.
- Ability to climb ladders and access elevated areas, including rooftops and other high-level equipment locations.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, including entering railcars through manway openings and inspecting equipment located in restricted-access areas.
- Ability to work in dusty environments and tolerate varying plant conditions while conducting inspections and assessments.
- Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, crawl, and perform physical inspections throughout the facility.
- Vision correctable to 20/40 or better to safely perform inspection and evaluation activities.
- Flexibility in work schedule may be required to support operational needs, maintenance activities, and project execution, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
- Must adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while working on-site and during travel.

Pay Range:
130,500.00 - 159,500.00
