ABOUT THE JOB
The Multi-State Licensing Specialist – Provider is a temporary role responsible for driving the project of obtaining and maintaining state nursing licenses for Marathon Health’s Provider (NPs) across all 50 states. This role involves coordinating and managing the end-to-end licensing process – from initial applications through endorsement and renewal – in close partnership with NPs, state Boards of Nursing, and internal Credentialing and Clinical Operations teams, ensuring our providers are fully licensed and compliant to deliver virtual and in-person care nationwide.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Marathon Health Provider obtain new state nursing licenses across all 50 states, prioritizing states based on business need and timelines.
- Prepare, submit, and track individual NP license applications with state Boards of Nursing, including license by endorsement and Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) eligibility where applicable.
- Coordinate collection of required documentation from NPs (transcripts, certifications, background checks, fingerprinting, malpractice history, DEA registration, etc.) needed to complete each state application.
- Maintain comprehensive, accurate records of licensing activity and application status for every NP across all 50 states.
- Prepare and submit required reports and status updates to Clinical Operations and Provider Services leadership.
- Ensure that all license application documentation meets the standards and requirements set forth by each state Board of Nursing.
- Develop checklists, templates, and process documentation to streamline and standardize the multi-state licensure process for future use.
- Communicate clearly and proactively with NPs, guiding them through paperwork, notarizations, fees, and state-specific requirements throughout the application process.
- Track and manage the status of all NP license applications and approvals, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of any state board requests or deficiencies.
- Liaise directly with state Boards of Nursing and primary source verification services (e.g., Nursys) to resolve application questions and confirm license issuance.
- Conduct regular audits of NP licensing files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and external state regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Provider regarding multi-state licensing questions, issues, and concerns.
- Provide regular status reports and a final project summary/handoff documentation to Clinical Operations and People Experience leadership upon completion of the assignment.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of directly related experience in healthcare licensing, credentialing, or compliance required; experience with multi-state nursing/provider licensure or the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) strongly preferred.

Pay Range: $25.00-30.00/hr
